They do hire graduates from US institutions. I had contacts with their recruiters a couple times in the past. I am Chinese BTW.. They don't attend career fairs usually, but host their own events in cities with large or top schools.
Their pay isn't great comparing to other Chinese giants like Alibaba or Tencent and they are also notorious for ridiculous long working hours. Many employees are on 9-9-6 schedule. 9 AM to 9 PM for six days a week. That's part of the reason why they need a nap after lunch. You don't always have that shit load of work to do. It's just no one dare to leave before their director/manager leave. You will be given special attentions if you don't work that many hours and will not receive the full annually bonus (usually 30% to 100% of your annual salary).
Again, it's not a bad place to work if you have the passion, but the compensations and benefits are not comparable to Silicon Valley companies.

Thank YOU Uptin Saiidi for an upbeat reporting on Huawei. Sadly, three years and US sanctions later (video posted in 2018), Huawei doesn't occupy third place any longer. It is not fair how it's been treated and how it's been tripped off the race. I pray that Huawei would come out of this dark period stronger, that it will rise again.

Can someone explain the Black Swans metaphor.
( A ‘Black Swan Event’ is a negative in Financial markets. It means an outlying unexpected event like the 2008 financial crash )
Also black swans are native to Western Australia so I’m not sure how the Chinese incorporate this in to any traditional story ?...

So do they have black swans in China too ?
I always thought they were only endemic to Western Australia.

Morgan Hayward You mean originated from China? I'm not zoologist, not sure. My understanding is black Swan just a mutation of color.
