That 427 sat in my basement forever while dad put it together as Robin built the car. Hearing that beast fire up on the engine stand was a special day and seeing the car completely finished and ready to go across the block is really cool!
Thank you so much for sharing this additional piece of automotive history on this very cool car. It was a sincere pleasure meeting you and filming this video. Cheers!
Owned one back in the day , ( early 70s ) maroon with silver bottom trim ! Installed headers , 750 dbbl pumper and a Super Cobra Jet cam . Boy would it go !
@@musclecarswitheric I traded it for a 69 Mach 1 428 Cobra Jet , ruffley around 1973 or 74 . Back then these muscle cars weren’t worth much because of the gas shortage ( crisis ) of 1973 where you had to wait in line sometimes up to an hour or more to buy a few gallons of gas !
@@thomasdaum1927 I remember those days. I got my license in 1974 and got my family's station wagon as a hand-me-down. It was a Buick. Thanks for watching and your comments.
An Excellent Car of which I wouldn't drive for one second, rather put it in a climate controlled environment, and watch it's value go up as in the stock market...SWEET!!!
That's a special cougar. most that roll through are just over priced cars widely available. 66 restored eldorado sold for 115kk someone got bent over lube free.. I was going to bid on it.. extremely happy I didn't.. found one with 18k original 1 owner miles in concourse original condition including tires. Drove 500 miles to bring it home..

That's a beautiful car I have only seen two of them one red and one dark green
There was a dark green one at the auction but it slipped away before I could film it.
That's a beautiful Cat - when I heard the door open, it brought back sweet memories of my '67 Cougar. Thanks for the research
Glad you enjoyed it

Classy beast
My dad owns a 1968 ford Cougar GT e V8 engine, I believe these are few and far between
A tad bit off on his numbers, they made 357 of these with the 427 and and an additional 37 with the 428 Cobra Jet, with a total of 394 units overall.
thanks for your comments.
