When a CEO cries over the good quality of the product they're selling, you know they are meant to lead the project. Massive respect for everyone involved in this.
I mean it's their baby essentially. They created it 13 years ago. Now imagine everyone suddenly starting to appreciate and praise your creation. It's a very very overwhelming feeling.

@Tech lmao ok sigma
Arcane is legitimately the first animated tv show I have ever loved from start to finish. I almost don't even care how season 2 turns out, because this one season is absolutely perfect
Agree.......but i want that season 2 do, and i want it as good.
I’m excited and nervous for season 2. As even though season 1 is a masterpiece a bad ending could hinder themes previously implemented in the show(Game of thrones, and to a lesser degree Attack on titan) but if anyone could create a season extremely better then it’s predecessor it’s these writers and animators.
@@Treck533 the good thing is that Arcane will probably just never end. There's not single story to tell, and they can go in as many or little detail as they want, going from character arcs to world decimating gigantic stories (like the Noxian invasions or the Ruination). There are just no ends to this, and I love it
I suppose once they get the ball rolling it's easier to keep working on the project, so I'm sure that s2 is gonna be lit. But they should do a clean finish on s2 and not milk Arcane to oblivion
Shoocharu!! suprised i saw your name looking through the comments! 😄
Much love from a Grumps/NSP fan!

Absolutely, I think I cried more seeing the Journey of the people behind it than Arcane itself. 👍
Bridgind the rift made me realise something: I should be better. I do not put enough effort into the things I do, I should give my best, and I will forever remember that. This was an amazing journey, thank you, guys!

Truer words were never spoken.
totally agree with you, like when the cgi supervisor pointed out the problem with the glass shard at 19:00, i actually felt ashamed for half-assing my work.
are you kidding me with the glass thing at 18:54?? that's such a minute detail that I don't think anyone in the general audience would've noticed, i doubt like 99.99% of people would notice but the fact that they changed it is mind blowing to me! this show is such a freaking masterpiece and it shows in the attention to detail they pour into it
They wanted to make every possible screenshot be like a painting you can hang on your wall.
I would have missed that for sure. It does make me think that there's at least some other very minor detail I would have noticed at some point if they didn't put this level of detail into it. I have no complaints about this show. It's a work of art, frame by frame
That small handful of people that notice it makes all the effort worth it. Because they're the ones who love these minor things.
@@danielhughes3758 devil’s in the details mate. You may not notice it but your subconscious did. Cause lets be honest do you really think about how your glass is transparent and you can see objects behind it? No you take it as granted. Looking at how people like to pause and disect every scene possible for lore, Easter Egg, etc... this is kinda important...
They even pausing on teaser videos... so it's correct move...

Yeah true - noticing the shard missing behind the glass was well spotted. Such dedication!
I agree. I work in 3d art and I gotta add that rendering overlapping transparent onjects is a pain no matter what art medium you are working in
Watching bridging the rift is almost as impressive as watching Arcane if not more. The amount of work that went into every small detail is extraordinary. Watching this after they won the Emmy for Best Animated Show!!!
I love how they have multiple perfectionists in different stages of production. They can point out the smallest details from the breaking wine glass and belt buckles on characters. Its those little things that most people might ignore, but they are very valuable in selling the realism of the show. Just because you might overlook these tiny sounds and visuals in real life it doesnt mean your brain isnt picking up on them and processing the information. In the same way, every time they fix or improve on the smallest details, our brains will pick up on it and sell the story that much more to the viewers
That was insane. It was just a glass nobody gonna point that lmao
@@fabricebalan exactly why i love that they did lol especially the people who rewatched the show more than once will appreciate those details more and more. Theres always something new to see precisely because of the perfectionists. You can watch Arcane 10 times and still find these little easter eggs or pieces of realism and it makes for a timeless classic. Arcane has become a new era of storytelling for animation and its all thanks to the people who added 1 or 2 more pixels here and there for hours on end and made sure every single item had sound. Its something that makes us inspired by their dedication
@@fabricebalan well League has a lot of fans, someone will points out the mistakes even a nuance one

yeah, this episode made me tear up alongside with CEO. the amount of work, effort and creativity they put in this project is massive. it really inspires and motivates. especially considering the fact that so little believed in the success of this show. but i'm glad they took this risk and went with it. cause they literally created a masterpiece that me as an animation graduate had never seen before in my life
Perhaps its due to my longtime keeping up with hollywood/gaming industry news channels like Jim or Gundam, but I have an extremely negative perception of ceo's.
So seeing them cry made me think, no wonder Arcane exists if even the people at the highest levels are so passionate, so invested.
I just loved this ‘behind the scenes’ mini series. It really highlights the passion, respect, understanding and whatever other words I am forgetting that not only the creators have for the show they have crafted but also for the community that they got to share this with and introduce into this world. Just brings my appreciation of this show and companies to another level. Despite all the toxic players/moments this community really is awesome and thank you
Arcane is not just a great show but it's also opening up the new era of Animation. People uses to treat Animation as a kids stuff but Arcane shows them how much more Animation could do and it's truly an entertainment for everybody of all ages.
Well to be fair it's not the first animated show to do that. I'm not that old but the first I can think of is Miyazaki's movies for example.
@@erwannicolas3515 dude you can’t compare the animations. Arcane is on a different level
I’d say the main thing is that Arcane has successfully threaded the needle of proving animated doesn’t equate to kids stuff by being *really* good. There have been previous works, but they’ve all tended to be really niche or of limited cultural impact; think the works of Ralph Bakshi and the Heavy Metal movies. Totally adult focused but landed and faded almost as fast as they arrived.
@@erwannicolas3515 Ghibli tried to do that for a long time and they are failed. The industry move away from 2D to 3D during that time even with influence of their movie. If there's one other movie that could the same as Arcane. It would be Spider verse not Glibli.
It's almost like they showed them. They showed them all.

"The fact we can spend 5 hours in Piltover and Zaun, and then do it again in a second season, before we start to zoom out of this one little corner of the world and this handful of characters; just that possibility space is so wild."
100% confirmed now that Season 2 will be the conclusion of Season 1's story arc, and Season 3 will be a separate story in Runeterra.
so true, as @Necrit said
I won't say separate. There are many reasons to believe that noxus not as a nation, but as a political contender will be involved in the second season. And will probably drag the third out towards noxus. From there demacia, freljord and ionia will start to get involved.
On top of this, there is viktor and the void knocking on our door already, leading into just general referencing to Icathia and Shurima. Targon will then end up riding off the back end of shurima.
Literally bildgewater, shadow isles, and the jungle place, are the only places that currently have no set up in the current narrative. And would be the only places that may end up feeling like separate stories
@@ospreyau2759 Yes, I'm hoping we'll naturally discover new cities, civilisations and characters, in a natural flow. A bit like Game of Thrones, where everyone ends up being interconnected in a way that would not feel forced, but motivated by common threats or conflicts.
I wanna see Lux' story next. Since playing Legends of Runeterra I started to get more into the lore and I think Lux is such an interesting character. A mage in a nation that rejects them.. must be awful to live a second life
Noxus and Ionia seems the most likely to me. There's a ton of crossover between the two and Singed is the connective tissue I feel.
Edit:
also I saw a video of Christian expressing that he really wants to get into ionia. So there's that too
When the documentary is just as epic as the show. I have never played LoL, and probably never will, but the story and animation that Arcane oozes will keep me watching Arcane for as long as the show exists.

15:47 to 16:30 I'm actually a little bit worried there for Christian. He seems to be micromanaging, to be already head on to season 2 even before the release of season 1, and he talks how too much stress makes one lose oversight, talks about burnout... I hope he isn't going to have a burnout in the middle of production of season 2! Take a break if you need to, Christian. We'll wait 1 or even 2 more years for season 2 of the same quality, take your time, don't overdo it. What your team and you did was amazing, we're all really thankful, but don't put so much stress on yourself that you'll feel the only solution is to succeed in every little thing (another thing he says a lot: "it HAS to be a success, failure is not an option"). Take care, and thank you for everything! :)
they worked those both seasons together so I doubt that
@@miyakothug3142 ok, you might be right, it seems they launched themselves into the second season right away, so at least a long much needed break after those 2 seasons then! (And obviously, hoping for more than 2 seasons, but only after everyone was able to cool off hopefully.)
It is common for TV productions to work on multiple seasons simultaneously. The key is that once writing finishes up the animators start working on it, and while the animation is being done writing can get started on the next part. So while animation and post-production of season 1 is in progress, writing for season 2 would also be in progress.
of course theyd work on season 2 during season 1… They dont want to dig themselves into a hole and write something in season 1 that stops them from doing things that they want in season 2. its common for this to happen lol

Yes! The sound in the fight scenes and any action scenes are great, and just the hextech sounds, for me, have already become iconic!
The best music / sound effects are the ones that you don't even notice. That your mind just goes "Yeah, that's what that sounds like, of course" and pays no further attention to.

This is one of the best behind-the-scenes series I've ever seen. The fact that around 7:16, a sound engineer can reference a line of dialogue, and then we cut to footage of that exact line being recorded likely *years* beforehand... it's incredible. I cannot imagine how much footage these editors dug through to pull off moments like that, but it paid off beautifully.
I never played Lol but I really love Arcane. It's a masterpiece. I've never paid attention to the sound effects/ music before but it's so cool. I want to rewatch it 😬
I didn't watch Arcane until December, because I wasn't a fan of league at the time. But, I began seeing spoilers (and soundtracks) and decided to watch it, and never regretted it. I discovered that I like Jinx a lot and just fell in love with Arcane, really. Thank you Christian, you legend.
I can't express it enough, just thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, a million thank yous.
You gave it your best shot and what a magnificent shot it was
I see so many people in these comments saying this behind-the-scenes documentary made them cry. I didn't once feel like crying; quite the opposite. I think I got more and more excited with each video, just slowly watching the domino chain of events unfold that I knew would eventually lead to the creation of what's possibly my favorite show of all time (if it's not my all time favorite show, then it's definitely in competition for the title), and I just couldn't help but smile while listening to them talk about how they were scared to look at people's reactions, while knowing myself just how amazing the reputation of the show is. It was just an overwhelming feeling of "Man, I *really* wish they showed what their reaction was when they finally looked at what people thought of Arcane, cause they deserve that moment of realizing people love this masterpiece of a passion project that they made."
When Brandon startet crying I couldn't hold it anymore
I went into Arcane with pretty low expectations. It honestly blew me away.
Character writing, animation, world building, it was all borderline perfect.
I recommend this show to everyone and consider it one of the greatest seasons of any show ever released...and I'm not even a League of Legends player.
Honestly, I am sort of pissed it's connected to league. Like it acts as an anchor on it reaching new people
I was super excited to see Skyen and Necrit in this!! But also, seeing Ross was absolutely hilarious (especially since I've seen his premiere video ahahha) xDDD
i feel extremely lucky to live in a world where arcane exists. forever grateful to have experienced this. cant wait for what comes next.
Реву, как на финале сезона, столько эмоций у меня не вызывало ничего, СПАСИБО, что создали "Аркейн", спасибо что вложили в него душу!
man, i gotta be honest, as a sound engineer myself, this its like watching avengers for sound lovers hahaha this its so amazing dude.. thanks so much RIOT.
Makes me so happy knowing how positively received the show is. The whole time watching this documentary I was like "Oh I hope the show does well! They deserve it! Wait a minute..."
Riot: "We Gave It Our Best Shot"
Me: aannnnnnndddddddddd ya killed it!!!!
Now do the mage wars in Demacia haha.... but seriously so many amazing stories that you could bring to life so I'm curious to see how far you guys will go with these animated series!!
Oh, good kind of killing. Ok
@@parisulki729 yep yep!!
I reckon after they're done in piltover/zaun they'll move to noxus.
With Mel and her mom we have been introduced to the culture of noxus already, making it easier to introduce
From noxus they can go to shurima, Ionia, demacia and wherever else noxus is involved, or add the void or demons like swains
Not only does Arcane make me cry, the making of even made me cry now.
Massive props and love for every single person in this amazing team!
i cant imagine the relief after this schow came out and the rating was insanely good. that feeling must be one of a kind, im so happy for them. i had lowkey tiery eyes for the last third of the video.
Same! What a beautiful release! I feel for Christian and Alex so much with them being like, "I'm not looking at my phone! I"m just gonna be happy for tonight before I find out I'm cancelled" XD
Never thought i'd be waiting for the new part of the documentary to come out more than the actual second season
I would not say "more" exactly... but I've certainly been waiting for these making of, they are great! The amount of care, work and attention everyone poured into arcane is amazing!
Christian gave us a perfect representation of "never give up," he kept pushing and trying to make something that he truly felt like would be a great thing, I respect him for that. I've been watching this show on repeat since it came out, and because of that i would talk a lot about it. My sister got mad at me because of how much I love this show, but i don't think she understands how much this show focuses on mental illnesses, or how much time and how much effort they put in this. The animation is beautiful, its the best animation ive ever seen This show has effected me and many others very positively. The music was outstanding and blends perfectly into the show. This show will forever be my favorite. I will never stop recommending this show to people and i will never forget this show.
The end of this documentary actually made me cry. I became emotionally invested in watching the process of this series from start to finish, from Christian's small team and the inital concepts, all the way to the end where hundreds of people were involved. How the series almost got cancelled in its early stages of development. Christian had many moments of doubts and stress, and even after it was all done, he thought people were going to hate it. But in those final few moments where it showed the audience's reaction to the end of Act 1... I don't know man. Being able to provoke tears from your audience is something that artists and storytellers only DREAM of achieving.
Well done to Christian, all the directors, animators, and everyone else credited on this show. It was a phenomenal masterpiece. Even the documentary made me cry, and that says a lot.
I am so overwhelmingly proud of people I have never met because they put their souls into this and it shows and the respect I have for everyone who worked on this show is infinite.
27:26 Seeing the premier attendees watch the first three episodes got me emotional. After seeing the journey this show went through and knowing first-hand how those first episodes felt brought on some tears in me.
"What if you dont know these characters, what if you dont know anything about League of Legends would you still engage in this?"
I did. Tbh the only things I heard about LoL game beforehand was bad...and I still felt compelled to watch Arcane. SO happy that I did! I cannot come up with a single complaint for Arcane
Congrats on the emmy! One of the greatest shows ever, you guys deserve it!
The fact that even the official team who made the show is calling out T B Skyen for how long his analysis videos are XD
Lmao right?? Love that man
The guy is such a pointdexter. But competent
I would also have a heart attack if Braum was sitting next to me! Not only Braum, Vander too!
I would definitely be uncomfortable standing next to him too, but if I were to stand behind him...... 😩👌
And caustic as well lol
when your sound mixer has a radiohead logo on his door, you know they picked the right guys
Amen
I start tearing up seeing just mentions by other people of the parts of Arcane that shook them (as well as the rest of the world). It's just so powerful. Huge kudos to every single individual that took part in this colossal project.
Seeing Brandon tear up really got to me, somehow. I can't imagine how emotional it must have been to have something you helped create so many years ago evolve into a god-tier art masterpiece that tugged at the heart strings of so many people around the world.
Congratulations to every single person that made Arcane possible - from the directors to the writers; the musicians and sound designers; the animators and voice actors; to the cleaning ladies that swept the floors soiled with their blood, sweat and tears - the whole lot... you are all legends in my book.
And Christian... the fans will forever be in your debt for the legacy you are leaving behind. Give yourself a pat on the back and please allow yourself some time for rest and relaxation, mate, you've earned it. This community needs you sane... the world needs more people with your levels of passion and dedication in it.
With love,
A grateful fan.
beautifully said.
I loved Arcane so much, when I first heard riot was making an animated show I wasn't going to watch it since I thought it was just going to be whatever.
I skipped the premier and woke up the next day with the internet on fire. That night in my dorm I turned off all the lights and experienced something magical.
so excited for season 2.
THE TBSKYEN AND ROSS BOOMSOCKS CAMEOS THO
reading the subtitles when they converse in french sometimes and listening to their document. The most moving feeling is that everyone worked hard on a project that they put there ideas, thoughts, creativity, etc, all into this series. it gives me the utmost to know that i really like when your done on a project, you gave it your best shot. know that you achieved on and keeping at it.
Based on everything I've seen of Christian in these videos, he seems like a really caring, incredibly dedicated and worrying-about-everything person. At every step there were doubts and issues. To go from that to 31:14 where someone explains how they staked their livelyhood on your ability to make this show work must have been such an incredible moment of release of tension and appreciation. Man, I have so much faith in season 2 now that I've watched these Bridging the Rift videos. It wasn't lightning in a bottle. It's just pure skill and dedication.
This show had me in tears multiple times. I've dreamed about a movie set in the League universe for years, but I wouldn't have dared to imagine it being this good. This show is a masterpiece and everyone working on it should be proud of what they've accomplished. It is art like this that makes life wonderful, even just for a little while.
I really felt it when i saw them cry while watching their hardwork🥺
The first time I watched arcane, I came into it with very little understanding but big expectations for what I thought was just going to be a cheap cash grab for a video game. But when episode three ended, I felt something I haven’t actually felt in cinema, it was a feeling of absolute aww. Never have I ever seen animation keep me hooked, moments that’ll never leave my brain, and story that I connected to more than arcane league of legends, the tragedy in the story is something you don’t see often. Something that Hollywood and the film industry all to together doesn’t have the guts to do, As someone who’s wanting to be a screenwriter or director of course. This show has so much depth and if you play your cards right, if you not only expand, but you even more in depth in this unique world, you might just create the greatest story ever told.
Thank you for getting my attention, and god speed in season two.
