    Wreckless Abandon by Mike Campbell
    Lyrics
I found you in a roadside ditch
    Twenty bottles gone
Had your finger on the switch
    All circuits were blown
    Fever up to 105
    Clothes soaking wet
You were lucky just to be alive
    Living without a net
    Throwing caution to the wind
    Going over the edge again
    With wreckless abandon
    With wreckless abandon
Tell the doctor to get here quick
    Ain’t no time to kill
    Someone’s gonna be getting sick
    Yeah you know they will
You only got yourself to blame
    For turning black and blue
Oh ain’t it a crying shame
    You blew another fuse
    Throwing caution to the wind
    Going over the edge again
    With wreckless abandon
    With wreckless abandon
    Throwing caution to the wind
    Going over the edge again
    With wreckless abandon
    With wreckless abandon
    With wreckless abandon

I can't decide if Mike sounds like Tom, or I'm just hearing Tom's voice in my head singing this. Probably both.

Sounds like Tom Petty singing over a Stonesy shuffle from the early 70s, in other words it sounds GREAT !

I feel like it kind of sounds somewhere in between 70's Stones and Tom Petty.

As I’m listening to this song, I am proven that there is life after Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (though Petty’s music and spirit will live on).

This is absolutely fantastic. Mike and the boys hit this one out of the park. I hear alot of what made music good over the past 50 years in this band, little nuances of George Harrison on that 12 string Rick, touches of Ronnie Wood style bass(Jeff Beck Truth era) playing and alot of Tom(which makes me realize how much Mike shaped the Heartbreaker's sound). I'm hoping to see this band in the near future. This is the freshest sounding music I've heard in YEARS. Keep it Up Mike!:)

Mike's a great player, as everyone with functioning ears knows. Heartbreakers fans know he's a genius songwriter, too. He's got an awesome singing voice for rock and roll, and his shared roots with Tom are evident in the inflection. I love it.

Holy friggin' Mother of Pearl. I just listened to this twice in a row. Had to comment on how amazing this is in so many ways. But actually, I'm gonna replay it again!

Rock on Mike!! I've been knobbed...Tommy would be proud and foot tapping. Guitar rock and roll will never die!!

Saw Mike and the Knobs at the Patchogue theater on Wednesday! Did the meet and greet with my son again, and Mike remembered us from last year! Didn’t think the show could be better than last years show at the Paramount in Huntington! But it was! Even got a shout out from Mike during the show. And Steve Ferone on the drums was an added surprise!,

This is stunning. Most artists of the 'classic' variety have a tendency to put out late period material that somehow just doesn't resonate, as hard as they try, and then they just end up falling back on their old catalog. The Heartbreakers never had that problem, a rare gift after 40 years of making records; Mike surely deserves a lot of that credit. 'Hypnotic Eye' and 'Mojo' were as effortless, fresh and contemporary as 'Damn the Torpedoes' and 'Hard Promises' ... and this new song by The Dirty Knobs is no exception ... this track will be on an endless loop for awhile. MC shows once again why he's one of the best guitarists and greatest rock n roll songwriters out there. George's production is also first rate. Tom would be proud.

Intro is awesome. The vocals, chord changes, jangling guitars, bass and drum parts - just a great song
