Giraffe bull rescued from wire snare

Just before Christmas a report was received of a big giraffe bull with a terrible snare wound on his leg. In a collaborative effort between the game reserve, WildScapes vet Dr Ben Muller, helicopter Pilot Jana Meyer from Hope for Wildlife Helis and Wild Wonderful World Conservation Fund, we were able to dart and treat this giraffe, rescuing this helpless animal in agony.
