You probably wouldn’t believe this, but there are three affluent communities in Kinston with million dollar homes. I’m still here and fortunately living in one of the three most desirable neighborhoods. But I’m glad I saw this video, big eye opener for sure.
This is what happens to small towns when you send most of the high paying jobs overseas trust me I know I grew up 17 miles east of Kinston totally different place in the seventies and eighties.
I saw a few familiar streets Tiffany and Washington. I knew how to get from my grandma’s house in the country to my aunts homes, downtown and the mall. 😊
I went back for a funeral about 10 years ago and remember feeling the drastic decline in certain areas, but this.... Kinston lost it's thrive when they took the plants away or they went out of business. There were no jobs left when that happened, and the white politicians left too. IJS
I got videos of me riding my bicycle through this hood... at night. This makes me laugh. You should-a seen this place in 2009, 2010. 2012. I got the videos. Care to see them?

Thanks for sharing! The majority of communities have there good and bad areas. Some are just more of a drastic separation than others.
I also grew up there and, i didn't even see to much that I remember. I left there only 10 years ago, DAMN!!
