- At the end of September, a turf war intensified between Hojisuke and a new young male, and the relationship between the wagtails in my yard began to change. At such a time, I have to leave the house for a week, and I would like to express my concerns🙇♀️.
厳しかった夏が終わり厳しい冬が近付こうとして餌場を巡って動き始めましたね。みんな生きていくのに必死で、どの子もうまいことやり過ごしてほしいです。
主さん次回が気になりすぎます(笑)
ホジ君が縄張りを守りきれる事を願っています。ホジ君は優しい子なんですね。きっと…そんな気がしました。

It was wonderful to see Isomaru helping his friend #2! It would really be something if #2 ended up being the new King of the Yard! Yuki is such a beautiful bird……her story constantly evolves but she always holds her head high, confident in herself (just like a Princess should be).

Hi Dave, I was so glad that Isomaru was there at that place at that time. If he had not been there, Shrike would have persistently stayed outside the shed and made Chibisuke panic. I knew that shrikes hunt sparrows, but I did not expect that they try to hunt wagtails. Shrikes are not as agile as wagtails, so the shrike may have targeted Chibisuke because he is still young. Anyway, I have never been so grateful for Isomaru's presence as I was this time! Chibisukes was born in the last breeding this summer, so it is still small among the wagtails born this year. If it were a male, he would not be able to beat Hojisuke in a territorial battle this season, so we can looking forward to next year. If it is a female, there is a possibility that she will return to the yard from time to time like Yuki and Koyuki even if she is kicked out of the yard. If Chibisuke keeps coming here for another month or so we will know if it is a male or female.😊
Yuki is my favorite. She is a strong mother and has a very calm nature. Even after she left this territory with Kappasuke, she continued to come here every few months. I think she probably attaches to this yard the most. So your comment about Yuki made me very happy.😆
Actually, it was the end of September to early October when I was away from home for a week, so a video of what happened after that is currently in the works! I hope to somehow catch up to the present in the next video.😅

A very intense breath taking update where who wins the yard is anyone's guess..However Isomaru is fine , also 2 continues and seems self sufficient .Yuki is the one I feel for .Waiting until next week I'm sending positive thoughts - Many thanks for this update , as always it's fantastic .Greetings across the miles . Hello Helena, thank you for sending positive thoughts!Usually, several males come to fight for territory in the fall, but this is the only young male so far this season, so I thought Hojisuke was lucky, but this young male is quite a tough male. Shrikes - not nice.
Is there a Shrike in your area? They are very ferocious. But I never thought they would try to hunt the wagtail. I always had a problem with Isomaru scaring wagtails, but this time he looked like a hero to me 😆

@@Sekisuke I have never seen a shrike in person but I have seen film on them. They impale insects and lizards on sharp twigs and barbed wire. 🫣. Nickname - butcher bird. I didn’t think they would go after other birds though.

The shrike in Japan attacks sparrows and impales them on sharp twigs.😔
But I don't think the shrike can keep up with the wagtail's agility, so as long as the wagtail is cautious and not sick, it should be fine... I hope.

ホジ助と小雪がタッグを組んで若オスに対抗するのは、嬉しい気もしますが、ちょっと雪ちゃんが可愛そう…。
チビ助２号は、まだ未熟ですし、お庭の外に追いやられると心配です😓もう少し可愛い姿を見守りたいところですよね。

私もなんとなく雪ちゃんが毎回割を食っているように見えて仕方ないのです。本当に可愛くて優しい子なのでいつまでもここにいて欲しいです😔チビ助は繁殖期最後で生まれた子で同じく今年生まれたこの若いオスと比べると体格の差が歴然です。第一回換羽もまだ終わっていないのでもう少し成長するまでここへ来てくれたら安心できるのですが💦

わが家の庭に来る子の話ですが、今週庭に（前に囀ってた子かどうかわからないけど）女子と対面で見つめ合ってる!?とこを見ましたよ🎉🥳自宅の庭でカップルになったのなら、とても嬉しいです🥰🐦

冬はオスがモラハラ気質になるので食べ物をめぐって仲悪そうに見えるかもしれませんが、ツガイならいつも一緒にいるようになりますよ😊

ハクセキレイの縄張り争いは繁殖期が始まる春～初夏も活発になります。営巣場所を求めての事かもしれませんね🤔

モズが雀を狩るのは聞いたことがありましたが、ハクセキレイも狩りの対象だと知って驚きました💦
たぶんハクセキレイのあの速さには敵わないと思うのですが一瞬の油断が命取りになる世界なので心配が尽きません😔
ホジは逃げてばかり。でも粘り強く庭から離れないでいるのが弱そうに見えて芯は強いのかも。こんないい餌場はそうないのだから、とことん執着して勝ちとってほしいですね。若いオスがイライラして他の所に移ってくれる可能性もありますね。何だったらワンちゃんに退治してもらって😛
雪ちゃん、ずっといてほしいです。老衰するまでお庭にいてほしい。小雪はファザコンか？とにかくみんな仲良く過ごしてほしいものです。
1週間、短いようで長いですね。どうなっているのか私たちもドキドキします。
この春夏に雪ちゃんと繁殖して一生懸命餌を運んだ良き父なホジ助にはとても愛着があるので庭に残って欲しいのは山々ですが、若いオスはもしかしたら雪ちゃんか小雪の次のパートナーになる可能性もあるので様子を見たいと思います。もしこの若いオスがこの縄張りを勝ち取ったなら名前を考えてあげないとなりません。そうなったらホジ助さようなら・・になってしまいますね💦

と心配するんでしょうか（笑）
もしかしたら「縄張りから追い出してやった」とドヤっているかもしれません😆

ぴー太郎の居候チビ太（命名しましたｗ）は顔に黄色い部分がないので1歳以上と推定
エプロンの面積はぴー太郎より小さく、ホジ助を同じか少し小さいぐらい。
左足に一部欠損があり、3本指がない状態。
ぴー太郎は昨日初めて、おやつを先取りしたチビ太に攻撃的な行動をとりました（笑）
餌が少なくなっていくに連れて、今後もっと激しくなってくのかと予想してますが、今のところぴー太郎は昨年よりマイルドです（笑）
チビ太が今後ぴー太郎のライバルになりそうですね！
冬場は餌が減るので秋の縄張り争いは結構激しくなります。ぴー太郎もチビ太もなんとか怪我をせず過ごして貰いたいです。
チビ太は欠損あるんですね。不憫に思う一方で同定が簡単という考えに至ってしまいます🤭

Les grives bleues peuvent affronter les pies-grièches ?
La pie-grièche est un prédateur féroce qui chasse même les moineaux, mais je suppose qu'elle ne fait pas le poids face à la Monticole bleue, qui fait une taille de plus.😉
