Great episode! I hadn't seen this one before, and loved it. Heath is dreamy, Whitmore is terrifying (he smiles, but his eyes show something else!), and Susan Strasberg is such a natural actress. Thanks for the upload! :D
Thanks! First time I've ever watched this series. Great theme music. Susan Strasberg was a boyhood crush of mine. She was menaced by James Whitmore in an episode of "The Invaders" as well as this. I couldn't help seeing a resemblance between Lee Majors and William Shatner in some scenes. This certainly won't be the last of this series I watch. Thanks, again.
I like this one a lot. I would say it is one of my Season Three favorites. I love all four of the episodes with guest star James Whitmore. Susan Strasberg does indeed look good.. :-]
Little Joe Cartwright faced down an old friend gone bad the exact same way, by telling him he'd always let him win quick draws in the past. Then, I saw some show from the fifties at a friend's house, I can't remember the series, where the hero pulled the same stunt. So... This must be a western staple. The old, I let you win, routine... Thanks for posting these episodes. Big Valley was always one of my favorite shows!
Heath realizes at this point that he's going to have to smoke Wills. (James Whitmore was great in every Big Valley he was in, but he was fantastic in this one and especially in "The Death Merchant")
Same here, I love Westerns! When I was a kid ('50s and '60s) one of my uncles had a library of Westerns in his house. Years later I was reading something about Pres. Eisenhower that said "Ike was in the White House reading Westerns". Now I know why. If it weren't for guys like Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey the Modern Western as we have come to know it probably wouldn't exist. So much seems to have been borrowed or inspired from the stories they wrote.
If he had used EKU (Eastern Kentucky University) Colonels1959 as an I.D., I'd be thinking it was Lee Majors himself, who played college football! In fact, I looked it up just to be sure :-)
Hi. I wrote you a brief comment on your main page, don't know if you found it or not. Hope your dad is better. Will write in response to your longer message..........just been busy. Take care!

Lee M, that protrayed Heath, is a good looking Man, so handsome. Big Valley is my favorite Western.

Heath. Barkley. A woman's. Dream. Man ,💕
that kiss, the way he looks at Sally...then "I'm not leaving without you" - omg.
He was in 4 episodes of The Big Valley and had 'issues' in all of them. He was a good actor.
Heath, tore that old man up, Heath is so handsome and sexy and fine.
Check out Whitmore in "The Death Merchant" from the first season.
2:03-2:07 YAY! YEHAW! BOY HOWDY!!!!!!! WHOOT WHOOT!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! :) lol! I knew it would happen sometime!!
That music at the end when the townsfolk gather around Wills's dead body makes the whole episode.
Great music in this show. Used very effectively in many episodes.
Those Barkley boys were always kissing the girls.........lucky girls !!!!!
Det där är också snygg scen med Linda Evans är väldigt vacker kvinna 🦋🦋☀️☀️🌝🌝🌞🌞
and I thought Nick was bringing in a pizza...

Why does Heath tell Sally to let Tom in the room? She should have just told him to go away through the door.
He wanted him to know that he knows he's been trying
Part of. The. Script. Lol
To show Wills he, Heath, is protecting Sally. Meaning, if Wills is smart, back off.
@@guatemama07 Ah, that makes sense.
Brooks?
GOOD ENDING
1 dislike? I guess Heath didn't let them win.
Nick,wowhe, was fine
L Majors resemble Elvis
I believe he may have also been friends with Elvis.
He looks like a blonde Elvis. When lee majors gained weight in his later years, he looked like hoss cartwright from Bonanza. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
