Legit. Paid the extra for this after a demo in the showroom. You could feel a huge difference in heat through the two.
So at one of my local shops here, I've always wondered why they charged double the price from the Prime XR vs XR Plus and gotta say, for approx a 10% improvement, it seems well worth the money!
At first glance 98% seems only 10% better than 88%. But the max you can get is 100% which means the surface enveloped in that film won't absorb any heat through radiation.
The effectiveness of 98% IR heat rejection is x6 times higher than that of 88%. Look at the problem from the perspective of how much does it absorb instead of how much it reflects. One absorbs 12%, the other only 2%. Similarly, 99% is twice as better than 98%
That was perfect exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for your time and knowledge.
I had my car tinted in the longwood location back in 2016. Its still holding up strong. I ONLY recommend Tint Man!!!
I just got quoted 800 for xr and 1000 for xr+ in Boston area. This includes windshield, pano roof, all sides and rear.
The heat lamp is IR based right? Do you still see the same difference in real world use since the 35 film has the same TSER?
Why didn’t I see this video before I had Prime XR installed? Should have gone with the Plus. Oh well …
Could you do this same test, but in a car with the XR plus using that same heat-sheet?
What's the difference between Xpel XR black 70 and XR blue 70?
Interesting. I would think that the heat must be going somewhere, so is it possibly heating up the exterior glass a lot more? If so, I wonder if folks that have the super ceramic will have more instances of windows cracking?
Yes, you are exactly right. This is why we can't put this on residential and commercial windows because they usually have plate glass. It's only safe on tempered glass.
Thanks for the reply. So are you saying that it is possible for car windows to crack in the high heat with the super ceramic? Is it not as safe? I have a Tesla model 3. I'm concerned about the large back window.
@@mrmcclear we've done dozens of model 3 full one piece rear windows for years now with XR Plus and haven't had any problems.
The truth is that every car interior is going to get super hot after sitting in the sun regardless of what tint film you put on the windows, the better film just delays it a little longer.
Only if you leave the vehicle parked without air it will heat up, but the tinted glass helps a lot to keep the cold inside the vehicle, in addition to mine on the entire roof I put a THERMOLON sheet (I'm from Colombia, I don't know what this sheet is called in other countries) it is 10mm, one side is foam and the other side is an aluminum sheet, The sun can hit the roof of the car very hard and it will feel cool, plus the air conditioning is very comforting, your vehicle will be a refrigerator
That big of difference?
You did 30 percent across the board. Is there a difference if you were to do 30 percent with XR compared to 15 percent XR would it withstand heat and reject I guess “better”?
What happen to your vampire tint wasnt that 96%
They sell 96% and 78% not sure where youre getting 88
Xpel XR Plus Multilayer Ceramic averages 97% Infrared Heat Rejection. XR Plus 5% is 98%. Xpel XR Black Ceramic averages 85%. XR Black Ceramic 70% is 89%. All specs can be found at Xpel.com Thanks
doesnt make sense that a 10% change makes that much of a difference...
@@ohplezz You're thinking about it wrong. its not a 10% increase in efficacy. the 88% is letting 12% of the heat through, and the 98% is only letting 2% through. Those numbers are (10) apart, but the gains don't rise linearly with the percentage. I hope this helps.
@@lathamhardee Exactly, the numbers can be weird. 2% milk has TWICE the fat of 1% milk, even though the difference is just 1%.
So I just got XR today thanks to the price difference. $180 for no ceramic. $300 for XR. $650 for XR plus 😳
Just curious what city you're in. Here in Orlando most sedans are $175 CS, $290 XR & $500 XR Plus. This is for sides and rear window. XR is our most popular film. At up to 88% IR rejection it out performs most of our competitors best films and at a better price.
Tint Man Window Tinting Longwood DC metro area. And these are prices for my two door lol.
Come out to waldorf md to vega motor sports and get xr plus for rear window rear sides and front side for $500
Hello Wally. I also just got XR today. Good to know that while we may have contrasting whisky preferences, we happen to agree on ceramic film.
Stopwatch buddy. Stopwatch.
