  • Southern California is home to some of the most extreme landscapes on the planet--none more so than Death Valley where, in 1913, the temperatures reached a world-record high of 134 degrees fahrenheit.

    I’ve driven back from Vegas just south of Death Valley in the middle of June. You’ll never experience anything else like that heat. Feels like it’s burning the skin straight off your body.
    One time it got to 122 degrees and cars started overheating and breaking down. The whole highway between Nevada and Barstow was backed up with bumper to bumper traffic. The desert scenery sure is beautiful, but boy does it lose its charm quickly when you’re stuck in it.

      @@mikearmstrong8483 Yes, this is a strange thing in Kuwait, it is not on the equator, but the highest temperature recorded there was 140 and not only heat also hot air burns. Try going there in August and you will see 😂

    • @mikearmstrong8483
      @mikearmstrong8483 3 роки тому +3

      @@user-nh8ev5te5x
      Again: Kuwait does not have the highest recorded temperature. Read what I said. If it had the highest VALID recorded temperature of 140, then the world record high temperature would be 140, in Kuwait. It isn't. Because the highest VALID recorded temperature ever, on this planet, was 135 in Death Valley. Any claims otherwise are nonsense.
      Kuwait is not a backwards country; it is progressive and literate, and there are undoubtedly meteorologists there who are connected with international meteorology associations that set the standard for recording. And if they recorded a temperature of 140 by those standards, then that is what the record would be. The fact that the recognized record is NOT 140 in Kuwait means that you are just talking about some unqualified person looking at a uncalibrated thermometer, probably exposed to direct sunlight, and claiming to read a new high temperature off of it. If the standards for recording haven't been met, then it means nothing. I could stick a thermometer in hot oil in a frying pan, and then post a picture of it showing 175 degrees on the internet and claim that was the temperature at my home today. That doesn't make a new world record.
      Kuwait has not reached 140, regardless of what anybody says, or else the international meteorology associations would say "Kuwait has the new high record".
