Dont know about you but i see a certain metaphore in this sketch.
For anyone actually curious about the meaning behind the Sword in the Stone:
The sword represents justice, while the stone represents Christianity. When Arthur pulled the sword from the stone, it meant that he would pursue justice in God's name.
Nicholas Johnson interesting. So he removes the element of justice from Christianity, forming a secular state?
@@Meshuga63 Not quite. It means that God would bestow upon Arthur the task of pursing justice in His name.
A better metaphor would that the sword represents humanity, and the rock all the problems it faces, so that when the King draws the sword his like warding of the problems that are plaguing humanity.
That's interesting---where did you learn that? Are you certain that wasn't a later interprepation frosted onto the legend? It sounds like something the Crusaders would say. And weren't these popular legends mixed with mythology, not Christianity? So I find myself (currently) doubting that being the original meaning. But it could be an interesting tradition indicative of the gospel (or maybe the Catholic Church) spreading over Britain.

Well this didn't age well, seems Trump has been doing pretty good the last few years, even with the DemocRATS lying and constantly attacking him, most the media twisting his words or straight up lying about him and blaming him for things he has no control over while at the same time not informing the people of all the good he's doing. The funny thing is the table being round actually *was* important as it meant there was no head to the table, so no knight ranked above the others, all who sat around it were equal.
I love how when he’s asked about resolving a war (the one point at which pulling out a sword would make a lot of sense) he tries to answer legitimately

I’d still take Arthur over today’s choices. At least he is competent in pulling swords from rocks, that’s better than most can do in the modern world we live in.
And he isn't corrupt.
King Arthur was a magnificent ruler, this depiction of him is highly unflatering. We are talking about a man so commited to justice that he tried to execute his own wife because he refused to make an exeption for himself in the law when the same was demanded of commoners.
Me: The ending when he is listing off his reasons. On reason three, it shows that Arthur is actually rather smart, but loves to be entertaining. Win by not being boring, instead going for flashy. And then once on the throne, rule effectively.
Also me: ...a sketch..it is a sketch. Do not take it so seriously.
