Adsumus Sancte Spiritus | We stand before you, Holy Spirit.
This song was sang at the Gathering of the People of God | Together, an Ecumenical prayer vigil in Rome, on the 30 September, 2023, to entrust to God the works of the Synod. The vast majority of the music group came from Hungary, from the “Zoltán Kodály” Hungarian Choir school, to animate the singing of the prayer vigil.
This song has been specially composed by the Taizé Community for Together. The text of the song and the soli is a prayer attributed to St Isidore of Seville (c. 560 - 4 April 636) and has a long history: used at various Councils, Synods and other meetings throughout the history of the Church.
