Back in 78 Sydney was Rock heaven until councils did there anti noise thing by 84 clubs closed in 84 I moved to Melbourne & immediately ran into Ian Rilen ( outside the Prince of Wales StKilda) & we both had moved for same reason ! We often went to Espy play pool ! He was living in Mary St ( I think)?? But I miss him X were so good ! New Christs too just great rock !!! Thanks for your stuff it’s great to remember this stuff !! Took it for granted Thursday Crawl in St Kilda !! All gone !!When Masuak says the bands were red hot it’s so true!!! What a wonderful interview so great to hear from Birdman/HitmenNew Christs all i saw & that’s my point by 84 it was gone !!!

I loved the Tivoli. You show Melbourne in Intro Click! It was in George Street Sydney. I had several beers with Jello Biafra there (he doesn't drink) watching "No Fixed Address"

The Flaming Hands were one of Sydney's finest music acts in the early 80's.
We used to follow them around to many venues and see them a few times a week.
The San Miguel at Cammeray was a small venue that went off like a powder keg in the 80's.
The Family Inn at Rydalmere was a huge barn like venue.
The Governor's Pleasure at The Rocks was a great little venue too.
So many venues and so many memories.

Aaah, The Tivoli - many times I was there. Saw that epic Oils Xmas gig - 5 in a row. Went to the 1st and last. The 1st Pete came out of ceiling dressed as Robin Hood suspended in a big triangle. Last gig had the flying saucer with Garrett dressed up as Santa - everyone was gobsmacked. Didn't know Mark 'Dodo' Dodshon was at the saucer's control - scary LOL 😅😂. Thanks heaps Gioia for the memories!

Great memories of the Tivoli - in particular a Choirboys, Rose Tattoo, Angels gig. probably in '83. Fights breaking out in George St at the bottom of the stairs and seeing a guy thrown through a window of a shop down the street

Really enjoying your channel. Becomes hard remembering all the venues and your channel puts it back into perspective. Great discussion with Chris Masuak. The gig with Iggy and the Hitmen at the Tivoli would have been awesome - think I was overseas to miss that. If you liked the Go Between's they played regularly at the Manly Hotel.

Great venue the Tivoli! Played my own gigs and supported others there. Lived in Glebe next door to Steve Caffeiro (X Drummer) and Smiley Pailthorpe (Hush Drummer) Everybody knew everybody. Some of us were destined for fame and the rest were there for the great times and comradeship. A win win situation really.

I went to the PIL concert, it was actually '82. My first summer out of school. It was such a great concert as they did all the Sex Pistols songs as well. I remember they delayed opening the doors for some reason and there was a big crowd of punks and the like growing impatient outside. Then someone comes and puts a sign in the window saying, no studs. This really got the crowd going and me and my mate thought there was going to be a riot, so we went to the pub across the road until it got sorted. We didn't have to wait too long as someone realised this wasnt a good idea and just let everyone in.

My memories are that there were two Tivolis not far from each other
That is why you had a flyer with grand opening The first was a few doors up George St in an old movie theatre, that's the venue the Oils played in 81. It wasn't the same place as the later Tivoli circa 85

Ha saw Iggy there once, Selinas was the place too, um, and the Horden Pavlova, um, Pavillion. Ian was a good friend of mine. I know or did know almost half of the people you have mentioned. Hahahah. 3 am, Kardoma cafe. In walks Mick Jagger and starts jamming with the band, a harmonica in his mouth.. Those we're the days.
P.S. Went to a gig. Iggy pop, Beasts of Bourbon @ the Horden. Beasts did Iggy's song list and Iggy did there's.
P.P.S I worked on the door of the Propaganda club.

"Say Goodbye" by Hunters & Collectors was released in 1986 not 1981.
A song had to be very special and important for me to buy the 7" vinyl record.
So, I bought "Say Goodbye" by Hunters & Collectors and still own it today.
Please research the facts before establishing a You Tube site.
Hunters & Collectors formed in Melbourne in early 1981 with the initial line-up of Archer, Crosby, Falconer, Miles, Perano, Seymour and Tosti-Gueira, the core of Hunters & Collectors was expanded by a brass section, later dubbed Horns of Contempt, consisting of Nigel Crocker and Michael Waters both on trombone; Jack Howard, Andy Lynn and Chris Malherbe each on trumpet; and Jeremy Smith on French horn and released a 3 track EP which I bought and still possess today, called 'World of Stone'
It not only changed my life, it changed the music landscape of Australia.
    Hunters & Collectors members
John Archer - bass guitar, backing vocals
Geoff Crosby - keyboards, Korg MS-20
    Doug Falconer - drums
Robert Miles - live sound, art director
    Greg Perano - percussion
Mark Seymour - guitar, lead vocals, bass guitar
Ray Tosti-Guerra - guitar, backing vocals
Horns of Contempt members (on "Loinclothing")
    Nigel Crocker - trombone
    Jack Howard - trumpet
    Andy Lynn - trumpet
    Chris Malherbe - trumpet
    Jeremy Smith - French horn
    Michael Waters - trombone
    Additional musicians
Karen Ansel - backing vocals (on "Loinclothing")

Nowhere in this clip did I state Say Goodbye was released in 1981. I mention the club itself began its live performance nights in about 1981. I should have mentioned it further along in the narrative as I can see how you think I might have referred to 1981 with the order of events I mentioned I appreciate the feedback . The research I do is fairly accurate and detailed and I try to incorporate a range of bands . I hope you enjoyed my efforts as I do this simply for fun and for my love of music. 🎶

Albanese is a great Prime Minister and a top aussie bloke.
Albo grew up in Housing Commission with his mother.
      Albo is real and genuine.
Since winning the 2022 election the Labor Government have passed hundreds of policies into law that have made Australia a better country for everyone to live in.
After 9 and a half years of neglect by the Coalition mongrels, Albo and his Labor Government have come in to fix the mess made by the Liberals and National Party.
Uneducated and misinformed people like "@deanpd3402" are not aware of how great Albo and this Government are.
I'm switched on and tuned in, I know what is and what isn't.
