This set has given me some fun ideas to explore for using these Cryx in my Dark Mechanicum army rebuild. Really loving what SFG have done with Cryx. Gonna have to get some now.
I forgot about the extreme sculpts. I remember we'd play games with just an appropriate rectacle of packing cardboard. Was a good way to proxy. I always loved the volume rules of WM while 5th 40k was doing true line of sight. I appreciate both now tho. I appreciate their jump to 3D printing to modernize the line and get models into people's hands efficiently without keeping a huge inventory but I really hope it's mostly a stop gap as they gage interest and ramp up production. These look like they went a little crazy with auto supports.
Loving the new cryx stuff. I kind of wish they went back to the darker grey resin they were using for some mini crate stuff a while back, there felt like it had some flex to prevent breaking but i get why some people don't like that.
Despite one bit being broken, everything else I feel is pretty durable. There is a bit of flex and strength to this, based on my experiments with all sorts of other resins. It's a pretty decent mix.
For some people that's the only way to get them. There's a reason Onlygames seems to have a constant backlog of orders. People want the stuff, but don't always want to invest in a printer and everything that entails. I figure I'd rather see the game going the route it is than disappearing completely. Working on these models has rekindled the enjoyment I got out of the Iron Kingdoms. I may have been awful at the game itself, but I certainly enjoyed everything that it entailed! Circle of Iron was a bit more my jam. Less worrying about math probabilities and caster shenanigans.
