Fun trick for those who want their drinks icy but not diluted: FROZEN GRAPES! No seriously, think about it. Pre-feeeze your favorite grapes for a few hours and they act like ice cubes cooling the drink but not really offering extra water or another flavor. Good for any party drink!
I keep frozen peaches and frozen grapes on hand to chill drinks - especially Sangria!
Thanks Julia for a time honored, wonderful recipe!
Great recipe! You have been my inspiration for new recipes for years now, Julia. Thank you for your hard work.
Just got back from Spain and learned that Spaniards have a different drink that is more popular: tinto de verano. Half red wine, half lemon soda served over ice with a lemon slice. I like sangria but tinto de verano is where it’s at.
I would love nothing more than to hang with Julia sippin' Sangria!
Wow, that looks delicious AND easy!
Add small apple cubes. They add only a hint of flavor BUT they absorb the sangria as they sit in it. Delicious garnish to eat!
Julia is incredible. Love her
Simple and good wins with me every time!
Will make it next week, thank you!
Wowowow
Super simple sangria
Definitely need to try
great recipe…so easy to do.😊
so nicely explained, encouragingly simple
I’m excited to prepare this Sangria!! Thank you from Colorado. 😍
Hmmm, for some reason I think this is the best video about making Sangria. Thanks
Thank you 🌈

I like the idea of using Grand Marnier. I have always used brandy, which is good, but the Grand Marnier sounds like a good upgrade. I usually use a Spanish red wine like a Tempranillo when making sangria.
Love the “fancy” opening of the wine 😅😂🤣😂😅👍🏻❤️
Hi Julia! You can add several additional notches of taste by adding the lemon and orange zest to your recipe instead of wasting it, IMO!
BTW, using Grand Marnier is worth the additional cost. IMO!
Just tell your guests to sip slowly.
Time to GET LOADED!
Pro tip: Triple the amounts if you're a single person trying to drown your sorrows.
Thank you....
Waiting to use my grand marinier...fantastic to 👌
Yo sister... love it and you made me laugh.....😊...great happy vid … so simple thankyou.😘
Brandy-based Grand Marnier also works well in sangria because it also made from 🍇. Also depending on the sweetness of the wine you may be able to reduce or eliminate the simple syrup.
Adding a half or full bottle of Vinho Verde would lighten the flavor a little give it some sparkle.
I’ve used Adam’s original recipe for as many years as you have as well as his white version (half as much triple sec if i remember right.) Sometimes I like to top off the glasses with a little seltzer. Not too much but just to give it a little something extra since I’m too cheap to use Grand Mariner. Lol
I'd definitely add a cinnamon stick, and a couple of peppercorns for depth of flavor
Is that to the sangria as a whole or just to the simple syrup? If to the latter, do you strain it out?
I'm making it tonight for sure!!!!
Do you have a link for the drink dispenser?
I make this all the time..
Your husband is a keeper ❤
I've been looking for a good sangria / agua fresca jug. Julia, can you please send a link to the one you have?
That's why I looked for this specific video! Looking forward to seeing your beautiful dogs more often
I just noticed you dont pinch the blade while cutting with a knife - that's so interesting because I really struggle to control the knife without doing so.
I like a cinnamon stick added to my sangria pitcher.
My close friend loves ❤ sangria so much. I’m gonna try to use your recipe and have her drink the whole bottle 😅. I don’t drink so it’s all hers.
The sangrias I had in Spain never had any hard liquor - just wine, citrus, sparkling water and some sugar. Plain but great.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice video! Especially the part where you open up the wine! Nice recipe! I use to make a sangria concoction! This recipe is a lot simpler! I used cinnamon sticks and Agra syrup. It would be nice to know where you can find that container? I would like to have one if they are not to expensive.
❤
A great warm weather cooler downer.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
They're adorable 😍
Drink that and say thupper rumple sangia ;) great recipe ! 😊
Spanish brandy (Brandy Jerez) is what one should use in a sangria. It's pretty much a waste of the Grand Marnier when there are the sweet and orange flavors that it provides already present from other ingredients. The flavor of a solera aged Spanish brandy is an important component to sangria.
👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Our recipe just uses triple sec and brandy - still cheaper than grand marnier
I think you only used one bottle of wine.
Sounds like a northerner sangria versus the southern iced tea, vodka, peach schnapps or peach whiskey, and mint juleps
@@Evan-bc6nb adding peach whiskey or peach schnapps would have everybody happy in this nation - forced inebriation would solve all of the BS BLM et al communist treasonous actions in this nation
Have not had Sangria in a long-time.
👍
❤❤❤👊
How would convert it to a virgin Sangria? I don't drink wine.
Already done my cooking except for breakfast, been doing a taco salad. Have to do a low carb diet. It's been working. Next A1C is expected to be 5.8 or less. Back in March it was up to 11.9, acid level was way off the chart.
Wow how to open a bottle of wine.
I could be wrong, but it looked like she only added one bottle of wine to the jar.
Better With Champagne
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
She needs to sharpen that knife
Merlot o Pinot Noir... hay que joderse. Un Don Simón por favor, que es sangría
Sorry Julia, but that "raised collar" look went out twenty years ago!
Despite this fashion faux pas~your videos are great! Showing you in your own kitchen, cooking as we do, is reassuring to folks who aren't confident in the kitchen.
Out of curiosity, do you know how douchey your comment is and just don't care or do you think you're actually doing her a favor by insulting her appearance?
The irony is that you mention how her videos are reassuring implying you have a self-confidence issue while attacking her appearance potentially harming her self-confidence.
Wow. Does it really matter in the whole-world-scheme-of-life? Tsk tsk. Fashion police...be gone!
@@ruthannegalera6594
In order for your opinion to matter, first it must mean something to me.
It doesn't.
Yeah, pretty sure Julia doesn't care what you (or anyone else) think of her and her collars. She even laughed about putting "little popped foil collars" on some lemon soufflés in another episode.
Must have drank the first batch of sangria before making this video.
Thank you!
Hey Julia - RIght now Boonsberry Farm cost $5.49 and you're recommending to not spend more than $10 on the wine. How far behind the economic times are you? You should remember that Sangria is a WINE concoction. Never use a Merlot... that's a French gra[pe. Sangria should be sweet and SPICY. Use a Tempranillo or a Grenacha.
"''''''''dont use an expensive bottle of wine here, i never go over 10$"
crys in canadian.....
cheapest bottle of wine in canada is almost 15 dollars after taxes
@@shawnsg sorta not exactly though
as the conversion would be similar in price, the wine you would get for 15 bucks is the lowest quaility, which would be like a 4 dollar bottle of wine
for example a 7 dollar bottle of wine from the states would cost about 22 dollars in canada for the exact same brand/bottle
its not just a matter of usd to cad currency
even a canadian grown and produced bottle imported to the usa is much much cheaper to buy there than buying it here even if you did the conversion
How to get drunk for soccer moms.
Sorry, but not the best Sangria I have had by any means. Had a definite "citrus rind" aftertaste. I'll stick to my much better tasting but more complicated recipe. Thanks for the video.
Sorry, real Spaniards dissolve superfine sugar in brandy and some sweeter less acidic fruit like apples, pears and peaches along with orange
Considering she never called herself a spaniard nor did she call the recipe authentic in any way...the tone of this comment is odd
I've seen many seeds in those lemon slices. After 2 hours this is going to be bitter as hell, isn't it..?
DOCUMENTED SUPER TASTER HERE - All alcoholic drinks taste terrible. That is why I don't drink alcohol
Rather then ice cubes, I prefer to use frozen fruit in the glass... It serve the same purpose, but it has the added benefit of nutritious element (wink wink wink)
Several years ago, a neighbor who was a professional chef showed me a "simple" trick, for simple syrup. He put the equal parts sugar/water together, and began cooking. Next, he took out some of the mixture, to use for a later comparison tasting. He added 4 whole pepper corns to the remaining mixture, and cooked it for a time. He discarded the pepper corns, and did a with/without pepper corns tasting. There was an amazing difference in the DEPTH of flavor ... without any discernible TASTE of pepper, or anything else. Of course, Sangria has a host of flavors involved. But, I always add the 4 peppercorns to simple syrup. What is very subtle in cooking, can make a difference.
Yum
Will have to try that. Thanks for sharing 🎉
Amazing...thank you and thanks to your friend!
Can’t wait to try this thanks going in my recipe book
