So the JBL Xtreme 4 has some very big upgrades to it like a swappable battery, better sound and Auracast. And in general, this is a super portable and loud speaker thats great to take to the beach or park with you. However, the JBL Charge 5 has been one of my favorite speakers to recommend for a few years now, and theres also the JBL Pulse 5 which looks super cool thanks to its very impressive light feature. So heres a break down if you’re trying to choose between the JBL Xtreme 4, or the Charge 5 or the Pulse 5.

You should probably just use the EXTREME 3 for indoor use while it’s plugged in getting full power & place it near a wall. I own the EXTREME 3 as well & this is the only way that I use it. I just don’t care for the output in battery mode.
If you’re deciding whether or not to get the EXTREME 4, it all depends on how you plan on using it. If you want a speaker for mainly outdoors, you might want to consider the Boom2.
I’ve watched multiple comparison videos between the EXTREME 4 & Boom2. The 4 has more overall clarity, but the Boom2 overall has a fuller sound with deeper bass. It’s also a lot cheaper retailing at $129.99. I own the Boom2 as well.
I guess it all depends on what you want or prefer & how much money you’re willing to spend.😊
X4 has deeper bass, Since below 45hz the Boom 2 Boost Upper grequencies on a sine wave, It does have more bass tough
Don't using a speaker continuously while being charged spoil the battery!?
I just bought the extreme 4 resealed for 200$ , i like that i can make a multiroom connection with my stage 320 and clip 5(this hangs in the bathroom).
It's a tough competitor in the lightweight speaker category.
Hopefully they release the charge 6 this year.

For the price charge5 is very good

If the xtreme 4 can fit the same battery as the pb320, why is the pb120 battery smaller?

They really bumped up the price of xtreme 4 way much than earlier version..the only reason holding back so many buyers.
Seriously you can buy a Boombox 3 for the same or sometimes cheaper.
I have only one Problem with JBL. One little Thing. The automatic reset to standard EQ when connecting two (or more) via Partyboost/auracast. Why?

Xtreme 3 for stereo. Then save up for a boombox 3 and you’ll have a great combination of speakers. The xtremes are fine in stereo but a boombox 3 with an xtreme 3 is a lot better than 2 xtremes. Pricing is about the same now.

Comes off quick unfortunately. They're not that well glued. Other than that, 8-9/10
