wonderful Swiss custom🇨🇭Old New Year 🪅 Silvesterchläuse wish you a happy new year 🫶 [Part 1]

In mid-January, in Appenzellerland, the old New Year is celebrated according to old Swiss custom. At dawn in Schwellbrunn we meet the first beautiful "Silvesterchläuse" and follow their ritual with natural yodeling and rolling bells. Just as the "Schuppel" leaves the farm, the next "Chläuse" follow. We also listen to their "Zäuerli" before we leave the farm towards Waldstatt and meet the next beautiful, deserted "Schuppel". This custom no longer exists in Appenzell (Innerrhoden). Only seen in a few communities in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, e.g. in Urnäsch 😉
