It is Android 8 Oreo, as far as I can see from system, it is already running and outdated security patch. But again this is an IoT device not a phone, and is primary meant to work with eWelink app. All other self-modifications and need to be done at own risk when exposing the device to internet, that said you can also make it run locally without the need to access the internet.

Beautiful hands. Do you get manicures? For $78 that thing is extremely feature rich. Even with software issues.
i don't like the way they force the camera and security icons on the main screen with no way to change them to something else.
I agree, more customization options for the main screen would be welcome.
A new firmware update v3.0.0 is available, which has a new, more customizable UI, even on homescreen.
