Yes, and even Prince Eric got his own song "Wild Uncharted Waters" which Jonah Hauer-King did very well with. I look forward to the DVD release in September 2023.
We saw it also ... it was "spectacular". A must must to see. Very VERY talented. A NEW super star. She's another Whitney Houston....I never thought I would see and say that.
Always been fan of Halle and her sister. Her as Skai on Grownish was absolutely fabulous given that she has a very sweet and gentle personality while Skai is a fire cracker😄. Was pleasantly surprised to hear she was casted as Ariel. Best part of the whole movie, honestly.Hope she releases her album soon.
Halle was absolutely amazing as Ariel!! Been a fan of her for years. Her speaking voice, her SINGING voice, her her beauty and her light shows that she was indeed the best person for the role. So proud of her and excited to see her career continue to blossom🤎
I can't believe the Amazon video of this is available on Tuesday 25th July 2023. Disney certainly doesn't hang around. That's the digital download one, not DVD. It has a pic of the cover, but no mention of a release date. UPDATE: It will be released in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats on September 19, 2023. All formats wil include exclusive bonus features including a sing-along version of the film, song breakdowns, bloopers, and exclusive featurettes. There is still no date for release on Disney+.
Halles' voice was just wonderful you feel everything Ariel feels', Ursula laugh makes you shake in fear Melissa McCarthy made Ursula come to life, Prince Eric will always be my favorite Disney prince, and Javier made me fall in love with King Triton. Everything was going good and than bam the lil unnecessary changes and scuttle rap scene that will forever taunt me not to mention the CGI looks of poor quality; you would expect better from Disney. Yeah it had good actors and they did a great job, good songs but the rest just felt flat.
It's a very interesting and entertaining movie in many respects. But one of its major weaknesses, it lacked a black male figure exercising authority on land or sea. And the black males who were depicted had so little film time. It showed an elite black woman with a non-black husband. There was no father or brother depicted. The beautiful black mermaid did not have a black daddy. He looked like some kind of Arab. Her boyfriend was apparently of British descent. And at the end one and all approves of their relationship. They sail away probably to colony in Africa to sip tea. 👨🤝👨🏾👨🤝👨🏾
She's a gannet actually - I think they chose that species because gannets are diving birds and can stay underwater for long periods of time chasing their prey. So it made sense for how Scuttle and Ariel interact
@@TheWaterCloset Ah yeah it is a Gannet. Although Seagulls do dive as well and much cuter. It's just that the charm of the seabird is lost. The Skuttle in the original movie mostly out of water.
@@switchcap6193 true but maybe it fixes the plot hole of how they met, if Ariel's not allowed to go to the surface, because gannets can stay underwater for much longer
Saw this yesterday and was mesmerized. Halle’s voice was made for Disney and just like her cast, her singing brought tears to my eyes 🥹
What a great interviewer!!? This entire episode is very well done.
Agreed!!!!
Her voice does bring tears to the
eyes. She sings with so much emotion. ❤
I love Jonah's voice!
Yeah I listen to his song all day
This movie, was just amazing, the colors, the new music, the old music, everything is just amazing.
Congratulations Halle you were perfect!!

The interviewer is amazing!
A Caribbean mermaid should've been brown to begin with but I digress. Halle captured Ariels mannerism perfectly. I loved both renditions.
This movie is magical

Just what the message says. Maybe you should go back and read it again. What part you don’t agree with?

You are so beautiful
why does she keep scratching her head? someone tell her it's indecent
They casted the wrong animals. Hahaha. The bird should be a seagull not a booby

A silly expression on one's face
Too bad it was written so terribly. She did her part.
I bet you didn't even seen this movie. 🙄
@@lamlam6092 huh? Is there some type of academy that trains you kids in these silly responses
