I'm pretty sure those stars-n-stripes drinking glasses are from 1976. I remember having those in our home the year I graduated high school, 1976, which was the bicentennial year too.
Oh my goodness! You look so cute in the horse collar mirror with your plates under your arm and your sweet smile!!! The world could use much more of you George!
I really love how you share your knowledge to someone who might be new to collecting or selling. Thank you! Good luck with ur event. Sell, Sell, Sell. 😊❤
Ooh , pink glass ! That first vanity you showed, my aunt had the exact same one . Interesting how items travel around . As my aunt and her hubby lived in an old Canadian Pacific Railway station ( husband was a station agent ). They lived in a small border town known as Coutts, Alberta ( entry port to Montana ). Seeing that vanity was a shocker . That trip looks like so much fun . Wish I could be there . Good luck on your sale 😊
I have to chuckle when you mention selling to the hipsters in Seattle. I'm in a suburb north of Seattle and I find alot of mid-century items in my local thrift stores and resell them over Facebook to mostly Seattlelites.
When someone says, ‘Your prices are great,’ it often means, ‘You don’t know the value of what you have, and I plan to profit from it.’ I watch your videos so resellers can’t take advantage of my elderly parents. I’m glad that knowledge is more accessible through Google Lens and social media.
Liverant Antiques in Colchester Ct celebrated 100 years in 2020! Arthur Liverant runs it now and he's third generation! They sell true antiques, highboys for 50 thousand, paintings for 100 thousand and other great American antiques.
Maybe, Secretary Buditchec, I obviously don't spell well, Secretary of Transportation moved the Indiana project forward. And not jjust because he is a Hoosier 😂 I am a big supported of him ! Very smart man ! Great temperament too !
I had no idea of all these great places! I’m new to living in Southern Indiana, as of 6 years ago. California is all I know! But I’m learning of all the wonderful places to visit, thanks to people like yourself. Beth Kemper❤ her!
Our milk box fit behind the drivers seat in our car. My dad would use it as a cooler to hold his beer whenever we went on vacation or to the drive in movies. Church key in glove box
Good evening, George. There was a marble-topped, walnut Victorian table, in that store, that I'd like to have. There was a hen and rooster set, under the Shawnee stuff, that caught my eye. I liked the frame, with the swan print. I have a weakness for Heisey, and I have a water set in the _Colonial_ pattern. It's my favourite pattern in Heisey. I liked the Maltese cross, all black, brooch. The blue and white, 1910 dresser jar was nice. I used to have several of those old fans...they were in the house that burned. When I hear you say, "Plastic fantastic", it always sounds like you're trying to convince yourself 😂 It would be a lot of fun to shop those sales. I'd probably need to rent a Smart Car, so I couldn't buy too much, though 😆 Thanks for giving us the tour!
Hello! I wish I had more marble top furniture in general, feel like that's coming back around with decorators and I see why! Hen and rooster set was more realistic so I see why that would be for you. I like the Colonial ball jug really well, had one for ages! "Plastic Fantastic Lover" was a Jefferson Airplane basically mocking people for letting tv program their thinking, so you have caught my little game, lol! I liked the title enough to apply it to things I was raised to think of as inferior plastic that now are considered fabulous by collectors. A Smart Car! --I loaded a 39" hall table in one of those and the driver had to do pretzel bends to get home!
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yeah, the hen and rooster set was something I would go for, with it being realistically done. The _Colonial_ set I have isn't the ball shape. It's a sloped(?) one that has points that come out at the bottom of the panels. I really like that set. For me, Heisey is all about the glass. I don't usually go for the pieces with the etchings on them, or the coloured pieces of Heisey. To not be crystal, Heisey had the clearest glass I've seen. How, pray, did you get a 39" hall table in a Smart Car? That was bigger than the car! 😂
Wild George, this has been the best video in. I've been watching you for about 2 and a 1/2 years. This was absolutely brilliant. I love this video I hope you Do well On your s a le, Be safe On your travels, thank you for this time. Other ventures are a waiting.😊😊😊😊😊
And here I am in Southern California wishing I could be there. It would be awesome if we did something like this here on the west coast. Great video and information, George. Thank you!
Scurvy the cat is a scurvy knave, and if he's not he's not getting credit where credit is due. 28:03 Jabot pin. Worn up near the neck. The garnet one looked like real garnets in silver. George doubtless knows this, but others won't: Eisenberg Ice is a new mark that's not the same thing as real Eisenberg. 46:34 a friend uses one of the insulated milk boxes as his mailbox. That's allowed here. It's a box with a lid.
I was born on highway 41! At the time it went right past the front of my childhood home! Of course, it's been diverted now, but the house is still there, but I'm looooong gone, twice around the globe. That was so much fun stuff! I wish I could pack up a container from here in Norway and set it up with you!
Love this video, the info you give. Why you choose to but or not to buy, how very fair you are and just how fun this is....almost like we are there! I love those airline plates.

Hi there!
Hi George and Xeno! I lived just off Highway 41 when I lived in Lake City Florida. 😊
This Highway 41 is on my refrigerator "To-do's" list now - rather do this than the beach....lol

George, This was a fabulous tour! I am envious!
Yep, I agree !
Hi G, heard it a few times you’ve mentioned it. It’s Eve-sham, not Eversham. Just thought I’d say.
This reminds me of the" Roundtop" 100 miles of antique near my hometown Of Brenham, Texas
I’m looking to buy some nice glasses to use. I’m tired of drinking my ice tea out of these old plastic Walmart cups!
I Love your reference to the Allman Brothers! Thank You! ❤
Have you ever been to the antique district in Little Falls, NY?
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Blessings on your sale.
