I have the fretted version of this bass and I wish it was possible to buy a fretless version of it but as far as I am aware, there isn’t one. All the hardware on my fretted bass is black, including the pots and bridge. I wonder if yours has been modified? I’m not sure it’s possible to buy a cheap, fretless, short-scale bass right now. I’d certainly be interested.
Hey Claes, I bought this bass used and its definitely a factory fretless, look on ebay, thats where I found this one, another good source is www.reverb.com check it out and let me know how you make out! Dudeman
I am nit sure that Ibanez built a short scale fretless Mikro I had to build a second one and defretted it Not too difficult but not so easy…. Worth trying with a 150 $ bass… And for slapping better too keep a fretted one or build a double neck…my next challenge
Why would you assume that inexpensive pickups and electronics would give you great tone? Tone is in the fingers, especially on a fretless, and those pickups and electronics are 1930s technology and are difficult to screw up. You don't need pickups made by some clown in Santa Barbara to sound great.
1930's technology? Did they really have fretless electric bass pickups back then? I will agree that tone is in the fingers for the most part. Thanks for the comment.

i was thinking of removing my frets and fill them in with bondo. but not sure if the neck can handle flat wound tension
@@tbasshandyman7610 Of course it can. I've got TI flats on my Mikro.

U NEED FRETS TO "SLAP" PROPERLY...
Right on bro, I'm not a good slapper even with frets!
No you don't, you need stronger string tension. You can totally slap on fretless long scale basses.
