    As a European I know what he means when he say that there are bad people where it is a trainstation and a McDonalds. Usually there are homeless people, people selling drugs/ people taking them in usch places...

    • @davidk7439
      @davidk7439 Рік тому +3

      Not a European, but has visited frequently, and converses daily with Europeans;
      Yeah, this exists, and you'll know it when you see it. It's an area that is sketchy enough that locals don't want to spend time there, so the businesses that are left are usually international fast-food that caters to tourists.
      It's distinct from usual touristy spots, in that they don't have cultural landmarks. You'll notice it as the foot traffic similarly drops off almost immediately, and there's basically no restaurants that aren't Yum brands. Try not to spend too much time here, or there's a decent chance people will try and hustle you.

    • @TheDanzau
      @TheDanzau 5 місяців тому

      trainstation are big warm building open 7/7 and have a lot of attributes that make them perfect for quick transaction .
      So if you are searching for drugs, homeless people, overrated shop/restaurant you will probably find them near a trainstation.
      this seem to me like rules that are true even outside europe.
      It isn't like that in the US ?

    • @Mara_1337
      @Mara_1337 2 місяці тому

      yeah and the reason is fairly obvious imo. Luis kinda mentioned two different things here, one, like Hasan said, is the touristy aspect with the fastfood chains, two yes, train station + mcdonalds DOES equal bums, so technically poor people/druggies.
      Why? because both are open very long into the night/very early. So people who wanna hang out in the streets but relatively sheltered and where they can buy beer all the time hang out around train stations or gas stations.
      Supermarkets/convenience stores close quite early in Europe and are closed on sundays. Gas stations are 24/7, some train stations too and they usually have convenience stores with longer opening hours. McDonalds also sells beer where I am.
      So yes, both is kinda true: drunk people or thugs loitering and the tourist trap aspect.

      It wouldn't be as bad if it was a general retirement at that age, the issue is it's the minimum age for every job even for demanding ones like nursing. And also the minimum years worked means people who stayed off the workforce to better educate themselves and increase their skills in uni are disadvantaged/disincentivized.
