I have 2 of these evoques and contrary to what some people say and think,if maintained properly they’re very reliable. The ford 2.0 turbo charged gdi that powers them is pretty tough if well cared for. But when you post a video on one you have my undivided attention because I can’t do what you do and I’m grateful that you share your knowledge and skills so I can learn thank you Sadel

I have seen enough SWAPTRONICS with coils alone not be the problem, my swaps are the 2 coils and 2 sparkplugs but the known good is not from the same cylinder, so 1 & 4 coils and 4 & 3 plugs or what ever is easily accessable, I also make sure the write up what I have done so if it is a bad coil, the car came in with #4 misfire and goes out with a new #1 coil, that needs to be well annotated for sure due to the estimate given and the codes annotated and where the new part was installed to prevent the next guy from misunderstanding and future swaps by anybody and the new problem being different in the future. thanks for the FIXes, cheers.

Now the real question is: did the other shop rid themselves of the “mechanic” that performed the bad timing job? I’m guessing yes!

The labor rate for Land Rover repairs in my area is posted at $499 per hour. Let me understand this: this Land Rover was previously serviced by another shop, and now they suspect it has transmission issues. Additionally, the engine has been replaced, likely due to errors made by the previous mechanic. My question is, why didn't the original shop provide a comprehensive health report? How could they misdiagnose a misfire for a transmission issue when there were clearly trouble codes in the ECM? If this vehicle wasn’t properly diagnosed, the customer could have easily been sold a transmission they didn’t need. This is a perfect example of consumers being taken advantage of shop owners who have little to no formal training, turning what was once a very nice vehicle into a POS. Everything on this vehicle is very expensive, and as a shop owner, you need to be 99% accurate. For those who own a Land Rover, this is a perfect example of what not to do when it comes to getting your vehicle service.

I read and comprehensive what you said however the reality is this type of scenarios are more common than what you think, I get a lot of vehicle from shops where you think 🤔 a wild animal could have Done less damages .but you are right there are a lot of untrained mechanics out there operating a business.

Like Joel commented, this isn't very surprising to encounter... there are many shops out there that operate like this and don't know what they are doing when it comes to figuring things out. Combination of multiple things and willingness to care

@@DTEAuto, yup, same around here. A combination of guessing and googling and throwing parts at it. No skill,no training, no care. Most days i feel like i am hitting a brick wall with these people. The only somewhat competent people around here are some of the auto electricians who get all the 'difficult' ones.
