2018 :)
My Airpods do that to and I have to reset them everytime its very annoying.The volume on them is very low so have the time I will listen to my beats lol.
i gave up on them and bought new ones because i was just getting aggravated :(

mine is still clean, i just take extra care of it! but if you are worried that it will get dirty then i would say to get the black one :)
