Man, does that bring back some memories. I remember getting Physical Graffiti as a birthday present the year it was released. That’s nearly 50 years ago and I still love that song. Thanks for the great lesson too.
Once again, great video!! I have been a Jimmy Page fan for close to 50 years. Over the years I have heard a lot of guitar snobs and shredders bash Jimmy Page. I think writing creative music that sounds good is more difficult than shredding, yes the shredders are amazingly good players, but most of it gets annoying after a song or two. Jimmy Page to me was a genius, his use of alternate tunings, effects and his unbelievable creativity is up there with Hendrix and all the other great song writing guitarists. Keep the videos coming!!!
Oh wow ! Another favourite of mine ! These licks are so cool to play, I always sneak some in my training routine. I remember learning that solo years ago, and you made it come back real quick. Really love your lessons.
The phaser gives it its distinct 'signature' sound with huge dollops of Jimmy Page 1/4 bends. What a great lesson with a few things I didn't know or hear. I can tell you love your Zep - same here. Physical Graffiti is an album full of so many music styles and textures and showcased how good AND creative Page, Jones, Plant and Bonham were. Excellent work, from DownUnder.
Another GREAT lesson. This is one of my all-time favorite Zep tunes, but I can't believe that you missed the GRONK! Generations of guitarists are going to learn it ALMOST right. During the Dmaj7 to E part, when he slides the E barre chord down, sometimes he hits the Bb (first fret of the A string) along with the open E. It's like a taste of Purple Haze. GRONK!
Wow ... Awesome ... I've been playing this for years but I never slid up to the G before the F#, plus several other tasty little fills and the lead F# pentatonic pattern. Thank you for showing this! Great job ... keep on rockin! Jimmy Page is part 1 of my holy trinity of hard rock guitar, part 2 and 3 are Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi. The titans of hard rock guitar! BTW Ritchie B leads are a little harder to play for me due to the more classical scales he uses. Maybe you can do a song by Deep purple ... even something basic like My Woman from Tokyo! Thanks
i never owned the physical graffiti album, so i'm not familiar with the song. but, i like jimmy page's playing and you do an awesome job breaking songs down. great playing too. i learned some things here, such as how jimmy page and the other great guitarists are masters of basics using triads and scales. thanks for the great lesson. my request would be 'have a little mercy' by zztop.
Once again thanks for sharing your know how , that Les Paul looks like Harrisons Lucy although i think Page used one that colour apart from his Cherry burst?.
Same here ❤️. I'm a massive Zeppelin fan. I'm aged 57, so not old enough to have known them in their heyday, but once I'd go into them aged 16, I was hooked. Started teaching myself myself guitar around the same time, had no real interest in the contemporary 80s guitar players, 60s and 70s was what I aspired to. Rock on from UK.🎸❤️
@@mrsoul4231 yes, it was! Guitar Tab was starting to appear, but mainly, in the books I used to get from the library, it was traditional music notation type books, with the standard full -chord shape diagrams🤣
Great lesson. I've been playing this for years in bands, but always pick up a little something every time I watch someone play it. Our singer hates this song since they don't get to sing anything for over a minute during the intro. Keep up the great work.
Dude, you give really, really good "instructionals" on these great old rock songs! I watch you do these bits and l ask myself "Dang, did l really once know all these bits backwards & forwards?" Lol! Hat's off from one old(er) rock-guy to another! And btw, your rock-room is _to die for!_ Especially drooling over the Blonde Bassman. Rock on Buddy!
I love your tutorials and playing man! I have one mild criticism of the video. I think on this song you kind of gloss over a few of the subtle fills that take place when Jimmy transitions from riff to chords and back. That’s a lot of the coolness of the song and very much a Jimmy Page signature. Am I off base? Thanks again!
@@12footchaintotally understand. That’s the beauty of Zep songs and Page’s composition - he takes a simple but cool riff with an incredible tone - a super cool rhythm part - and then adds tons of detailed guitar layers for flavor and builds momentum to create a dramatic epic. And whether you think he’s sloppy or not (I don’t) he plays a really great, restrained melodic solo that 100% fits in the mix. Sorry to go on; I believe he’s a rock genius.
Ive been waiting for this one for ages … I think I may have even requested it sometime 🤔🤔. Anyway awesome awesome lesson as usual . More jimmy page plz 🤙🏻🤙🏻😊🙌🏻
Those Jimmy Page PRE bends are hard to nail to get his trademark Pre bend tones on physical graffiti album. You should make a lesson about those Physical graffiti pre bend tones he gets on that album

'Spooky' - Atlanta Rhythm Section is a good song too! 🤣🤣🤣

digging the fretboard cheese. Mike Campbell would be proud
high praise indeed! If I could get a Mike Campbell approval on anything I played that would be incredible. He is the man
Recording has minimal Phaser and the lead sounds like it has just a touch of Leslie.
What a great tune
Please cover some early Robin Trower --- I Can't Wait Much Longer . Live . ✨🎸✨☮️
Thanks! You will soon hit the 100,000 sub mark. Congrats in advance.
I saw Robert Plant last week at a concert it was good
Great stuff! I’ve been jamming on “In the Light” from the same album. Some epic Pagey guitar orchestration on that one, too. 👌🏻🎸🖖🏻

How about "Still the One" by Orleans.
Sweet!!!!!!!!!
