Again, always appreciate seeing Blumenthal pull back the curtain on Israeli violence. I just wish that other Jewish people within the US would have the courage to speak out like he is. It's hard to understand the cognitive dissonance that that I see where Jewish people were almost exterminated and treated as subhuman and then to have them perpetrate violence against anyone who isn't Jewish when their religion was given a piece of land.

The Father's lesson was that if you are Jewish, you must always be aware because it can happen again. Not being Jewish, I came away with a different understanding. It was that it could happen to any group. All that is needed to isolate them.
There is a dark paradox happening in Israel that is not characteristic of Jews as a people. Jews are better than that.
Max Blumenthal has great courage.

I grew up in New Jersey and although I wasn't, I grew up in a Jewish culture. The kids I knew in school were my friends. At times, their parents looked after me as if I was their own. I sat and listened when my friend's Father told him about what had happened in the war. The horror of the camps.

I commend Blumenthal for his reserve and persistence in contributing to an opening of dialogue and criticism towards the Israeli govt., often lauded as the "only democracy in the middle east," Israel's a secretive society and silences dissent.
I suspect there are many Israelis who question the rationale of their military service, there occupation of the Palestinians, and of conscription as a whole; and their are many more who've abandoned the likkud "Eretz Yisrael" doctrine for peace!

I would agree re: racism from the beginning of the Jewish state and I don't believe it's a new phenomenon, either. The lack of critical thinking and empathy does boggle the mind, though.

the problem is that israel is being held to the standard of a western, liberal, secular democracy. all of this is true. israel is a western, advanced and highly successful state. however, when a country is considered to be western then engaging in overt racism is not going to be acceptable. you can get away with it in a police state. you can't get away with it as a western style nation state.

Once I regarded Max Blumenthal as a leftist. Then as a politically motivated individual. But, after seeing several of his clips, it becomes apparent he is simply a political opportunist: He knows much of his own rhetoric is bullshit, yet he repeats it. Someone must be paying his bills, to do that.
What exactly is "J + blood" Blumnethal talks about in every interview ? Is he joking or does he really believe in such thing as Jewish Blood/Race ?

Blumenthal knows just how tiny Israel is. He also knows that after conceding and retreating, giving up more and more soil to its enemies, this policy of appeasement only makes them bolder. It does not bring us any closer to attaining peace with them. So on the surface, it looks as if he truly wishes that Israel would also lose Judea and Samaria and stand 7 miles from the Mediterranean. But in reality, if there was even a remote chance of that ever happening, he wouldn't have published this "book" of his. Only, he understands it won't happen since the other side doesn't want it to happen - and a book is an income source..
