Elira is so relatable sometimes. On the rare occasions that I fall asleep at a decent time, I would wake up at these weird hours. I could wake up at 4 AM and feel fully rested. Then I'd go back to sleep, wake up at 6 AM, and feel sleepy as hell. Even though I was fully awake two hours prior.
I think it depends on which part of the sleep cycle you wake up at. Like if you deposit a sum of money in the bank, and you get take out windows to get it out with no penalty.
Meanwhile for me it doesn't make me any more tired, but if I get anything less than 8 hours, I will feel like death. I rarely ever get a full 8 hours, so melatonin usually just means I wake up feeling like I didn't sleep.

Melatonin? Melatonin is good for resetting sleep schedule, like maybe using them for a few months or so(as long as your taking low doses like 3mg every night) until your body gets used to your new routine. Using it more than that will make you rely on it too much.

If you use them daily it will stop working, a few years ago I used them and had to slowly ramp up the dosage to keep falling asleep, after about a year it was completely ineffective at above recommended volumes, if you want to use them, don't use it too often
@@MasterTheTime_ I do some research about it and looks like research for long term use were limited. Regardless of that, do you have any solution on how to sleep easily for people with messed up sleep schedule? Fixing the sleep schedule wasn't an option though.
@@datasawala Doing something physical to wear your body out always helps me fall asleep, but you could also start putting on relaxing noises to listen to like rain, that worked for a while, when I was little i just thought up a really boring phrase to repeatedly think about and that also put me to sleep. What works is very dependent on why you cant sleep, if it is just an over active mind, that likes to think up a lot of things when you try to sleep, then try and find something distracting to focus on like rain, if it is something medical or physical then talk to your doctor, anything else? Then google is your best friend

Delayed Sleep Phase is a common feature of Executive Function Disorder (ADHD). I can't imagine how bad the time zone fuckery is for her. She should aim for sleeping consistently from 2AM-10AM (give or take an hour).
