I think what I love most about this animation is that I interpret Xie Lian's 'problem' here as being in response not just to the fact San Lang is attractive and close to him, but also just the sense of safety and intimacy. He holds onto him and feels safe even when in danger. I haven't read the book so I'm curious how this scene is portrayed there.
Your work is honestly incredible.. You captured not only the exact style on the donghua but also the tone and feeling of the entire thing.
