Key takeaways after loss to Illinois: (1) Michigan really misses the GREATNESS of last year's quarterback (JJ), running back (Corum), and O line five; (2) last year's experience-laden run to the National Championship was fun to watch, but it limited on-field time for back up players, whose inexperience is showing this year; (3) Michigan's total focus on the playoffs last year meant little focus on the transfer portal to refill key positions, especially at QB.

Great insights and show - thank you to both! Complementary football is imperative for successful teams. For example, a great defense relies on an OL that can pass and run block sustaining drives ending up in scores. When this is the case, a defense can rest and be fresh going back onto the field. I have been tracking time of possession in the games this year and when the times cross and our defense is on the field much longer than opponents, naturally the players start getting tired and demoralized. I am hopeful we will see improvement as the season goes on.
I expect UM to come out and play their best game of the year for multiple reasons: (1) Last Saturday they were embarrassed by Illinois so this is a personal check, (2) Rivalry game for in-state bragging rights, (3) Upcoming games get harder against Oregon, Indiana, Northwestern and OSU.
Some are calling for Orji, not because of his QB ability but it’s the only way that our inept OC will run the ball with Mullings. Campbell needs to be handicapped in order to come up with a logical game plan.

Michigan needs to hire former players like Doug skene to coach the offense, this guy Campbell is clearly in over his head. The defense is keeping them in games.
The entire offensive line is just going through the motions & when any one of them gets beat by their assignment, they have no clue how to outmaneuver their man & the coaches either don't see it or are too inept to offer proper suggestions to prevent getting beat like a drum on every darn play... He felt threatened by Jimmy and let that fear cloud his thinking. We have been playing catch up for years now. Indiana can’t sustain that for multiple years, period. There’s a reason the SEC is the SEC. Alabama is still Alabama. They don’t look quite right either( just like us) but they’re competing in every game they play. Period. Eventually when you know you’re operating a program without all the tools you need to succeed, you start to give up a little and we are seeing it in the field right now. Warde Manuel has this program operating with one hand tied behind its back, Period. Even Jimmy struggled to overcome it; it’s not fair to expect this staff & team to doing the same thing they’ve done. They were the defending Champions so EVERYBODY studied what they did to go undefeated and that’s what they worked on. They were working on this season while Michigan was still playing last season. THEREFORE, Warde should’ve given Moore EVERYTHING and I mean everything. They should’ve made OSU look like bush league in the portal and spent 30 million. 2 QBS, 3 DL, 3 OL, 2 LB’s, 3DB’s. Christ, that would only equal about 9-10 million. They could’ve easily done that. There’s a reputation about Mich football that says it’s a “northern” plantation that refuses to play its players like everyone else while still trying to say/act like they’re a big time program. We are NOT. As time goes on we will reminiscence about what Jimmy did while he was here. It was UNBELIEVABLE. Period. We are right back to where we were before he came. On the verge of complete irrelevancy. Until Warde goes AND whomever else in the Administration that’s holding the program back, THIS IS WHO WE ARE.

I don't think it's going to get better this year only a lot worse. Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State. OUCH!!!!

They made the wrong HC choice.. should have been Mike Hart. That’s why he left. I’d bet on that. No Hart.. yeah.. pun intended. Michigan might now win a game the rest of the year. Fire them all. These coaches do not understand how to motivate, encourage, lift up, etc.. terrible. No excuse to have this much talent and be this bad. I don’t blame the players. I’ve said it from game 1.. Moore has no fire. None. Way out of his depth. You saw the coaches fighting on the sideline early on in this game too.. they’re done. Chiles is going for 300. The only way this changes is if the players themselves take charge. Hutch said that while he was here. It was a player led team. The culture they built left with those guys that got drafted. Every interview I saw in the preseason made me feel like the belief just wasn’t there.. coach moore “we play music now” … PLAY FOOTBALL!! Smh.

I've been a Michigan fan since 1969 when BO vs WOODY really heated up. Michigan beat number 1 OSU 24 to 12. So I've watched a lot of u of m football, this.might be the worst game I've ever turned off. Illinois is a better team this year, but 7 points. Totally unacceptable. I don't think it's going to get better this year only a lot worse. Indiana, Oregon, Ohio State. OUCH!!!!
Only UM is dvmb enough to hire a HC who has never been a HC before. Michigan is obviously not a serious football program if Juwone Moorward was their brilliant idea 😂
Dude.. pay urban what he said..
We’re gonna get clobbered by MSU
The piss and vinegar has left town. Ben Herbert. This team has gone from strong mentally and physically to soft soft soft . This team has checked out .
Homesick for Harbaugh!
Cheatagain Men! The chickens have come home to roost. #Asterisk
O-Line has zero intensity. Plain and Simple.
If only they knew the plays ahead of time, like last year. 3 years of cheating coming back to get um. Vacating wins and championships coming as well.
This coaching staff is pitiful
Who recruited these misfit q.b's anyway. Was it Jimmy?? Huh
Badly coached team. Period. They’d better reel this in or they won’t win another. Offense, special teams AWFUL. Defense playing average just because of talent. And don’t bring up Rich rod. They SCORED POINTS (at least). This coaching staff might have to be shown the door at the end of THIS SEASON. I’m serious.
Its been UGLY since jspring practice!!!!
Smh.
Cheaters get what they deserve.
lol 😂
Idiot.
Grow up
@@rickmoller4188 aww you mad- 20 more years or irrelevance and when the NCAA drops that hammer maybe you guys can threaten to leave for the MAC
Orji can't pass, and he's not much better running.
Talk about the incompetent coaching. C'mon.
1st you were going to win the natty, then the big 10 and get in the playoffs, then its a building year, now they are dissapointing!!!!! Where is Connor when you NEED him??????? LMAO
Another Ohio clown lying 🤥 about what was said. NO ONE SAID anything about a Natty, no one said anything about winning the Big10. The won the Natty w/o Connor, Derp. Focus on your team because even beating UM this year won’t make up for losing in the playoffs. You are NATTY or bust, my friend. There is no consolation prize now. Beating a horrible UM team when you went “all in” this year to win it all. You’ve got your own shiite to worry about.
Michigan will beat MSU, but they'll lose the next four.
A fish rots from the head down. How is it much lesser schools can get adequate QB play but Michigan has garbage QBs 🗑
lol
Loveland can't block shouldn't be called a TE
People usually rush the field when they beat the so called defending champions, don't they? Plus they are happy that they beat the cheaters.
