A game between FC Cincinnati and Bethlehem Steel ended badly for a Cincinnati player because he got a red card after some violent conduct in the dying minutes of the game.
Are you kidding it was brutal. He clearly knocked him out and ripped off his head. I heard ambulance got there and managed to reattach his head but he was announced dead 8 hours later.
This could actually have been prevented if the AR had been a little more vigilant. The foul stemmed from previous interaction between the two players in question. It is likely that there was some contention between the two players from earlier in the match as well that finally came to a point and caused reason for this foul. It's possible that the foul would have occurred anyway, but at least the words exchanged between the two players could have been addressed in the few minutes before the foul occurred.
Excellent comment and very true. Management of players is critical to match control and I cannot help but think about if the outcome would have been different if some proactive engagement had taken place between the referee and those two players who had a gripe with each other prior to the ball coming into play.

That could have turned ugly real fast, but the officials did a good job breaking it up before it could get that way. Red card is very much needed. Well done officials!

That jump isn't a jump that's going to win a header. That is rather a lunge into the opponent. This is aggression on the player, meaning VC. No intention to play the ball.

true .. playing a contract sport and getting irritated by minimal contact...in Italy almost every back pass we make the midfielder give us a push or makes contact somehow ..you can't react to that your just anticipate that and jump a little sometimes to avoid injury and move on... that's the sport
