Im sorry to say, but genshins early stages were terrrible in terms of story. Until they wrap everything and finish the grand reveal, genshins story will forever stay low tier
@@noirysp3293 your opinion is pretty unmeasured. mond was simple, but not trash whatsoever. just a classic intro hero story, 6/10. Liyue was a step up introducing vital world building and factions naturally, 7.5/10. Inazuma suffered from rushing and couldnt reach its potential, so fell to 7/10. Sumeru and Fontaine were both easy 9/10s, easily. Thats just main story, lore wise and world building throughout world quests + collectible lore has been a 10/10 all throughout. My single biggest gripe going into this game was that the story is poorly represented. Like the grand plot. We were left completely in the dark on our main protagonist's motivations for 3 whole versions. That is a problem. The actual state of the world is poorly explained in game. Even now it still isn't clearly explained in game that this is an apocalypse and New Eridu is the only city left. There is no good reason for this. The game is carried so hard by its characters and gameplay it is crazy.
@@DarthTalon5 thats a skill issue, tbf. They’ve dropped plenty of hints of depth since day one for the twins. The world is very clearly apocalyptic, with old eridu completely turned into hollow zero, etc. If you didn’t pick up on these you weren’t paying attention/skipping/dont have good reading comprehension Its like reading a good book with high level techniques but saying it was bad cause you didn’t understand it, right?
@@leho_123 The people in the world do not act even remotely like the world could end at any moment. We have schoolkids walking around worried about phones and snack dates ffs. The means of the world coming to an end is literally a power source that society runs on that corporations will go out of their way to enable just to earn more money. Hollow Zero/Old Eridu, doesn't need to refer specifically to apocalypse and moreso natural disaster, akin to something like Pompeii. By the twins do we mean the Ballet Twins or Old Eridu/New Eridu? Because the Ballet twins is a story of tragedy in a very small scale hollow comparatively and the Eridus would be twin only in name, not in terms of age or even similar design making that a weird point. The only real thing I have found that says "This is a world encompassing threat" is one of the early trailers and the only thing that says "New Eridu is the last city" is the wiki and probably some random ass tweet made by the devs. NONE OF THAT is in game. As far as in game is concerned there could be plenty of other cities out there that also have to contend with the same problems. Let me ask you this, what is the "Black Wall" I can guess from context that it is probably a massive hollow that basically would consist of whatever else is left of the planet, but that would surely be visible on the horizon and almost certainly cause huge issues regarding sunlight so that can't be it since you experience a normal full length day and we never see the damn thing. Or is it just another really big hollow more massive than hollow zero, because that would just be underwhelming. Do you see where there are problems now? Where the cracks start to form? I haven't even touched upon how we the players didn't even know our protagonists' motivation until the end of chapter 4 because it was left intentionally vague where even the characters themselves would talk cryptically to each other with no one else around. Or how anything that occurs in the game that isn't them doing stuff in Hollow Zero once they obtain access to it is a complete waste of their time. They have this big goal, yet they functionally do nothing to actually pursue it. I understand everything just fine...do you?
i am just really happy with this scene. the story had a proper mystery but the goal felt a little aimless. it seemed more like we were just following whatever was happening with vision, with the side bet of figuring out what that monster was. this... this is it. now I know what they're actually fighting for, and i want to see what comes of that! beautiful scene all around!
This exactly. As a consequence this makes a lot of what has been done so far just seem like a waste of time as most of it has done nothing to actually aid them in their goal. Like sure they are doing good things, cool. But they also do absolutely nothing to further their goal. It makes it feel like they are just waiting for something to just fall into their laps rather than actually working toward their goal.
@@thecommentor3845 Yeah that is a good thing. But as a consequence it also means that anything that isn't them doing Hollow Zero is a waste of their time.
