The most Canadian thing I've ever seen is a sign attached to the fence surrounding an irrigation dam. It simply says "Please Do Not Vandalize This Dam." Add it's working! I was recently by that way and stopped to see if it's still there. It is, badly sun-faded, but still there nearly 30 years after I first saw it, and the dam is still in mint condition. It hasn't even been tagged. How Canadian is that? A sign asks people to not wreck something, and people have obeyed the sign for decades. I'm convinced it's because they said "please." 🙂

That’s pretty cool. My cousin was their guitar tech for years, and he loved working for them. They took family time off and partied less than his other gig, The Goo Goo Dolls and they’re Canadian unlike the Stereophonics, so less overseas flights for weekend shows for him, and they have, or did have the same manager as Sarah McLachlan, whom he also liked working for.

I’m not sure if ever anybody got this kind of recognition, but he truly deserves it and apparently he is much more than we would know if they don’t reveal how much help he gave to others. One of my favorite musicians ever. BNL was the fist big concert I went to and I have so much memories of listening to them.

This is the kind of thing that makes me happy to be Canadian... That capacity to admit that these are troubling times, and that to move forward, there's a need to work TOGETHER.
