It looks like a decent enough port. But that primitive UI, poor CG intro and the horrible contrast between the sprites and the field itself leave much to be desired.
It has an ad for Tecmo's Deception at the beginning. I loved that game as a kid. It cost $70 at K-Mart. I saved up for it & it was worth it. I played the hell out of the game. I'd love to watch a play through of that. (I'll check your previous videos to see if you've already played it in the past, but if you haven't... Possibly check it out when you have time.)

2:30: “(Rob Zombie’s ‘Feel So Numb’ plays) Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. This is Randi Thomas and welcome to Tecmo Super Bowl 2025 by Koei Tecmo Sports!”-Randi Thomas.
A very warm welcome to Tecmo Stadium as the new Tecmo Super Bowl season officially gets underway and we've got a great matchup coming your way as the San Francisco 49ers kick things off against the New Orleans Saints. I'm Ian Eagle joined by Ohio State legend Kirk Herbstreit in the booth, Kay Adams and Rachel Riley are on the sidelines, Mike Pereira is our rules analyst, and Tracy Wollfson and Nate Burleson are in the studio...
I loved the NES, SNES & Genesis versions, but I didn't know that there was a Playstation one. (2:30) This menu theme has no business being this good lol.
Me too, especially the original Tecmo Bowl, the original Tecmo Super Bowl (and its 16-bit remakes), Tecmo Super Bowl II: Special Edition and Tecmo Super Bowl III: Final Edition!
4:53: “Rachel and I will see you back here at halftime, but, right now, let’s go LIVE to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, and the two lovely ladies who always enjoy all the jambalaya: Tracy Wolfson and Allie LaForce!”-Bonnie Bernstein. “Thank you, Bonnie, and welcome to The Big Easy, New Orleans, Louisiana, where a sellout crowd of over 75,000 fans are here to witness this Week 1 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints. Hello, kids, I’m Tracy Wolfson alongside Allie LaForce. Bianna Golodryga and Lauren Lake will both join us very shortly, and Allie, if this season is anything like last season, then we’re in for one rollercoaster of a ride!”-Tracy Wolfson.
16:45: “At the end of the first half, the 49ers lead the Saints 28-0. Now, let’s take you down to Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley at the KT Sports Studios for the Toyota Halftime Show. Take it away, Bonnie!”-Tracy Wolfson. “This halftime show is presented by Toyota and your local Toyota dealers. Toyota: Let’s Go Places! And now, from the Koei Tecmo Sports Studios, here are Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley!”-Randi Thomas. “Hello again, everyone. Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley welcoming you back to the KT Sports Studios for the Toyota Halftime Show, and it has been a first half blowout as the San Francisco 49ers lead the New Orleans Saints 28-0.”-Bonnie Bernstein.
If Koei Tecmo (which owns Tecmo Bowl, along with Monster Rancher, Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Dynasty Warriors) reboots the Tecmo Bowl franchise, the following things would occur: 1. The reboot would have both NFL and NFLPA licenses. 2. It would have a Music Choice-powered licensed soundtrack featuring the likes of Aerosmith, Peter Frampton, Alabama, Rob Zombie, Poppy, Metallica, the late Toby Keith, Will Roush, Taylor Swift, Nickelback, and Saliva, among others, as well as an original score composed, performed and conducted by Bridgit Mendler, with the score recorded at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. 3. It would have Tracy Wolfson on play-by-play, Allie LaForce on color, Lauren Lake as rules analyst, Bianna Golodryga as sideline reporter, Randi “1-800-ABCDEFG” Thomas as P.A. Announcer/VO Promo Announcer, Gene Steratore as referee, Cynthia Frelund as NFL Insider, Bonnie Bernstein as studio host and Rachel Riley as studio analyst, all under the voice direction of industry veteran Janyse Jaud with all the dialogue recorded at Ocean Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. 4. It would have the same formula as a regular NFL season: 18 weeks, an NFL postseason format (six Super Wild Card weekend games, four Divisional round games, two Conference Championship games and the Super Bowl) and the Pro Bowl Games, which always happens the week before the Super Bowl. …and… 5. All NFL games would have all four 15-minute quarters, with a halftime show and a college football-like overtime format if necessary.
8:00:59: “And it’s all over! The San Francisco 49ers have brought the Vince Lombardi Trophy back to the Bay Area! The 49ers are the new Super Bowl champions and they have won it all! The fans are going wild! It is Christmas in February!”-Tracy Wolfson.
8:01:37: “Well, that’ll do it for another season of NFL Football right here on Koei Tecmo Sports. The history books have been written, and the San Francisco 49ers are once again Super Bowl Champions. Rachel, once again, it’s been a blast!”-Bonnie Bernstein. “The pleasure has been all mine, Bonnie, and we look forward to meeting again next year.”-Rachel Riley. “That’s it for this season! For Rachel Riley, Tracy Wolfson, Allie LaForce, Bianna Golodryga, Lauren Lake and our entire Koei Tecmo Sports crew, all those talented men and women who hung out with us all season long, this is Bonnie Bernstein signing off from the KT Sports Studios! Stay well, everyone, and we’ll see you right back here next fall! So long, everybody!”-Bonnie Bernstein.
28:58: “That’ll do it for us, and Week 1 was awesome. Let’s all do it again 17 more times. For Rachel Riley and our entire KT Sports crew, this is Bonnie Bernstein saying so long from the Koei Tecmo Sports Studios, and we will see you right back here next week!”-Bonnie Bernstein.
If you change 2 simple settings, this is the best version of TSB. 1) turn the commentary off, and 2) change the camera angle to the classic TSB. It's so much better!
7:49:34: “It’s halftime with the San Francisco 49ers, who will get the ball to kickoff the second half, leading the Indianapolis Colts 21-0. And now, let’s send you to the KT Sports Studios and the Toyota halftime show where Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley are standing by!”-Tracy Wolfson. (Same Randi Thomas announcement as before) “Thank you, Tracy, and welcome back to the KT Sports Studios for the Toyota halftime show. Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley here with you, and the 49ers lead the Colts 21-0.”-Bonnie Bernstein.
16:53: “Be sure to join me and Rachel for the McDonald’s postgame show coming up at the end of this game, but, for now, let’s send you back to Tracy and Allie!”-Bonnie Bernstein.
28:39: “There’s the final whistle and this one is in the books! The 49ers have demolished the Saints by a final score of 56-0. That’s gonna do it for us from New Orleans. For Allie LaForce, Bianna Golodryga, Lauren Lake and our entire Koei Tecmo Sports crew, Tracy Wolfson saying so long from the Caesars Superdome, and take care, kids!”-Tracy Wolfson. “This postgame show is brought to you by McDonald’s: I’m Lovin’ It! And now, once again, from the Koei Tecmo Sports Studios, here are Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley!”-Randi Thomas. “Bonnie Bernstein and Rachel Riley back with you from the KT Sports Studios for the McDonald’s postgame show, and what a shutout it was on Bourbon Street as the San Francisco 49ers destroy the New Orleans Saints 56-0.”-Bonnie Bernstein.
7:49:41: “Wow! Taylor Swift certainly gave me goosebumps! Rachel and I will be back for the McDonald’s postgame show at the end of this game. Now, back to Tracy and Allie LIVE from New Orleans!”-Bonnie Bernstein.

7:36:50: “We’ll see you at halftime where Taylor Swift will be doing the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show, and now, for the last time this season, let’s mosey on down to the broadcast booth, and join Tracy Wolfson and Allie LaForce! Take it away, ladies!”-Bonnie Bernstein. “Thanks, Bonnie. Hello, kids, and welcome to the crown jewel of the NFL season: the Super Bowl. This year, the Super Bowl has come to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, where the Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers are about to play one final game with the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy on the line. I’m Tracy Wolfson alongside Allie LaForce and joining us in a moment will be Bianna Golodryga and Lauren Lake.”-Tracy Wolfson.
I also never knew about this. I dig the throwback gameplay, even though I'm no fan of American football by any stretch. The non-gameplay UI is pretty ugly, though. Looks like it was made by a high school student.
I thought, "fake thumbnail. Then I watched the game intro. Holy crap. XD
Tecmo Super Bowl for the PlayStation feels a whole lot like the original NES game but with a 32-bit facelift. Crazy, huh?
It looks like a decent enough port. But that primitive UI, poor CG intro and the horrible contrast between the sprites and the field itself leave much to be desired.

Looks like it's having an identity crisis...like it wants to be Madden, but be traditional Tecmo Bowl, too...
And it is determined to let you know that it is manly.
From 1991-96, Tecmo Super Bowl and Madden NFL went head-to-head to see which was the better football console game!
