We’ve been using the outbound shield 6 for five months now and we absolutely love it!! It’s been on many weekend adventures in that time (we don’t spend much time at home on our weekends ha!) and it’s been amazing. Rock up to camp and you’ve got 17m^2 of shade within minutes and it’s just as easy to pack away so it’s not a fuss at all if we need to leave our campsite. It’s 100% worth the money! Good quality and you’re supporting a great Aussie company 😍
Young Lady you nailed this review.Better than any review from supa peg or any body else Ive seen , you listed features on this awing that I didn't know about ,Old fashion salesmanship Supa peg need to pay you royalty's 😂😂😂 .You and Ben Kill it. Wish it came out from the car... length of 2.5 mts ,my side awing is this size and when you place the side walls on it doesn't feel closed in.I've seen the Zero 23 and the Darche 270 ones with the wall's up and they feel to closed in once place chairs and so forth it .I know they are 2.0mts from the car. Me thinks I keep looking 😒😒😒
I'm glad you found our review useful, Carlo. I reckon there will always be something that's not quite right, the quest for the perfect accessory never seems to end. ~ Ben
I've got a similar swing awning on my camper -different brand. It comes with poles, walls and guy ropes which I recently changed to the spring ones after I saw Ben at Snowys video 😊. Trouble I'm having is that the manufacturer says don't put it up in 25km plus winds. This wind gust speed can be a bit hard to gauge plus it's a big rig to put away quickly. Still working through the issue.
Manufacturers are usually cautious about what they recommend, Lamea Girl, and the guidelines are usually in place to allow for a lack of common sense. If you have your awning well secured to your car and adequately pegged out then you don't need to be anxious about your awning in wind, just apply some common sense and take it down if you think the conditions are really bad. Take care when packing it away in windy weather though as this can be when the damage occurs. ~ ben
I'm not sure I follow you, Cam, are you referring to the insert points for awning poles? It is freestanding and can handle strong winds, but SupaPeg have included these inserts so you can add awning poles for extra stability in extreme conditions. ~ Ben
Lauren's van is quite high, 1958linedancer, it will largely depend on the height of your vehicle as to whether or not you need a ladder or step for setup. ~ Ben
yes I have a sprinter also so was wondering if she could set up by herself or whether she has help or a ladder. I would be tackling it on my own but dont want to be climbing ladders if necessary
@@1958linedancer I reckon you'd need a step of some sort to be able to unpack it from the tonneau cover if you have a Sprinter. We have a setup video coming out soon which may help you. ~ Ben
We only carry the awning at this stage, Dean, you can get the wall kits directly from Supa Peg though - www.suparvaustralia.com.au/collections/walls/products/outbound-valance-walls. ~ Ben
I have looked at this awning as a replacement for the one currently on our camper. Problem is that the coverage doesn't come out far enough. Which means the edge of our pull out kitchen is exposed to weather.
I guess in order to make it come out further the packed length of the awning needs to be longer, and It's already a big unit. I'm not immediately aware of any others with much more coverage than this one. ~ Ben
@@SnowysOutdoors yeah the most that I've seen actually sticks out as far as similar to this one. The closest one I found is the OUTBOUND Supa Wing 3.6 Valance Awning.

Damn! That thing looks awesome!! I’m loving all the reinforcement features on the high wear areas of the fabric. So well thought out.
It is an excellent awning, Coralie, no corners cut in the manufacturing at all. ~ Ben

The fact that it has pole screw in points means its not gonna like heavy wind...

I have this exact awning on my Drifta camper trailer, had it up with no poles in 25kt winds , no problems

Awesome review, thanks for the attention to detail. Curious if you have this brand of awnings on display in your Adelaide store?
Cheers
It is indeed currently on display in our Adelaide store, Steve. ~ Ben
Pop rivets seems dodgy as to fix the arms... why not weld it.
I'm sure they would have considered this, Supa Peg makes things well, so I'm sure they are confident in the integrity of their methods. ~ Ben
would like to see how you set it up being a short person like myself I think I would find it difficult to set up alone without the use of a ladder.

I really like this awning. However, it costs more than I paid for my ute...Way out of my budget range, but a really good product.
It's not cheap by any means, but it is a top quality product. ~ Ben
