I never cried watching anime, but I think the anime that got me closest to it was Code Geass. (I mean, Kingdom Hearts got even closer, but that's not anime) But Fairy Tail is a good call too, Mashima is exceptional at making you feel what he wants you to.

It's even worse for Earthland Elfman, as he had to spend all those years mistakenly believing that he'd killed his little sister. Imagine living with that kind of guilt for literal *YEARS* only to suddenly learn one day, while visiting that sister's grave, that not only had you not killed your sister, but that she was still very much alive and after all those years she was finally back home.
I’m glad my favorite character is back and that’s one my most favorite moments of all is Lisanna reuniting with her sister & brother once again. I’ll never understand why Lisanna gets unnecessary hate from the fandom, but I don’t care what anyone says. I give props to Mashima for bringing her back just to reunite with Mirajane & Elfman

Nastu vs Mystogan is honestly one of my favorite fights in the entire series, because it didn’t have to be so flashy and extreme like other fights in the series, it was a bit more emotional and meaningful.

really loved the Lisanna ep, after all Lisanna's return was not really one of Mashima's asspulls, since it was established earlier on that Lisanna's body was never recovered. Then when more details were added it was foreshadowed that maybe, just maybe, Lisanna was alive. Unfortunately the Edolas arc was too jam packed with action and intrigue that a Lisanna sidestory could not really fit in. At least there was that episode where Lisanna showed some sussy actions of hiding when Natsu was explaining the whole other world thing and saving his friends to the Edolas Fairy Tail
