I have a mini bike with upgrades on it. Not supposed to be riding it on the street but I have a few times up the street to the gas station. I’ve had a few people on real bikes wave at me. It definitely makes us feel cool and special…!💯🤣🤣🤣😂👍🏾
I've been riding for 5 years and wave to every single rider I pass from a grom to a trike. That being said Harley Davidson riders are without a doubt the most sensitive and rude group I encounter. It's like they are bike racist lmao.
100% true, same results here in Florida. But I can tell you that when I had my Honda Grom and Honda Ruckus even some cocky sportbikers didn't wave back...

They just need to be ignored and shunned on an individual bases. Been on motorcycles since I could tip toe my first dirtbike(4yrs old) and been riding on the streets (on and off) for 20yrs.
My first bike was a Ninja 300. I had to deal with the “get a real bike” for years. I currently have a ZX10R and run A Group on track days. All the “get a real bike” guys are C Group.
I would never say that to any rider. That being said I do have a slight dislike for bikes like the ninja 300 that look like a super bike but are very low power. But hey if I had owned 1 I would probably have a different opinion
I've ridden small capacity bikes for years and I've learnt a lot of skills that I might not have learned if I started on a higher capacity bike, i.e. how to carry corner speed despite low cc, rev matching, trail braking, how to ride smoothly and not agitate the suspension with abrupt inputs, how to ride in wind on a lighter bike, how to ride different road surfaces, hazard avoidance, commuting skills, i.e. "lane choice, lane position, escape routes" emergency braking, how to hold a throttle, how to shift weight, how to weight the foot pegs, all that good stuff. Now I'm learning how to ride off-road and adding a whole new skill set. I do want to ride a litre bike and I'll get around to it one day but when I do I won't be an idiot or an asshole.
The stereotype of HD riders being rude likely comes from a lot of Vietnam vets riding Harleys. They've seen shit and done shit so I don't think they care to look like nice guys. That's fine and honestly doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is when I'm riding and see someone who is absolutely reckless on a bike or doesn't even know how to handle the thing in basic situations like a 90 degree corner. The rest is all good.
The only time I don’t wave is if I can’t take my hand off my handle bar at that moment but I’ll do a head nod and hope they see that, had a cop wave to me while he was riding the other day thought that was pretty cool my first time waving back to one

I got into riding late (in my 40s) and I am still grappling with why being on two wheels comes with an unspoken set of rules that don’t have anything to do with safety. I was really excited to be a part of the riding community so I wave to everyone. I understand sometimes other rides can’t wave back because they’re working the controls, but sometimes They don’t wave back because they simply don’t want to. I have yet to receive a wave back from any clubs. But group riders seem to always wave. Clubs blow past me on the freeway, but make it clear that I can’t pass unless I ask for permission. It’s just strange-
As a long time bicyclist I always waved to every motorcycle because I'm a goofball and after dozens of guys not waving it was a Harley rider that finally waved back. Now that I have a motorcycle I got to be that guy to someone else, felt great
I’ve been on my motorcycle for 18 years now. The only real rude statement I heard came from a fellow Triumph rider. I got to talking to with a guy at a dealer sponsored event about the history of Triumph. He looked at my 2007 Triumph T 100. He said, “ I have a real Triumph from 1978.” Now, I could have asked him about the reliability of his Co-op built bike, but I chose to walk away.
Wise move mate old triumph owners tend to be a special breed of stupid even back then they'd throw out the same attitude towards the Bonneville with regards to whether it was unit or pre-unit construction even though I'm pretty sure both were made at the Meriden factory you really can't make it up :D
It's mostly Harley rider's that don't wave back from my experience also When I wave I hold two fingers out that stands for two wheel's down I put three fingers out for the guys on trikes lol 😂

Facts. I am surprised we see any etiquette anywhere. Also I am interested to know how many bikers nearly get run off the road (while obeying all traffic laws and being awesome), simply for being on a motorcycle.
I'd like to add one caveat to the biker wave rule. Only give the wave if its safe to do so, if you feel its not safe to wave give a nod. I'm not condemning all HD riders, my brother has a Harley, but the only person who didnt wave back at me was on a Harley. That didn't really bother me as much as the look he shot my way the head shake he did. It was the nah man head shake, felt judgmental to me. But, like I said just the one guy so whatever I guess.
i wave at everyone I agree the Harley riders are 50/50..When i first started riding i was confused about why especially because i learned to ride on a Harley but Ive met so many awesome people on two wheels.
I am on my 2nd Harley and it pisses me off that so many Harley guys act all uppity. They actually think they're better than others because they can afford what others can't ......(.or just choose not to buy). It sames the entire Harley Community. I wave at everyone on 2 wheels.
I'm a relatively new rider and I'm on a harley. I try to wave to every other biker I see, but sometimes I'm too focused on driving and its too late before I realize they're over there. Not trying to be rude, just focusing on not dying 😂
Don't blow past another rider. But make damn sure you weave in and out of traffic and lane split and pop wheelies. I have never seen any biker ride carefully. I was on the turnpike (speed limit 70) and 2 crotch rockets come flying up behind me right on my ass. I was in the passing lane during rush hour and both lanes were clogged up pretty good and the bikers shot in between everybody else. About 2 miles up ahead (I found out later) the one biker hit a gator(retread) and wiped out pretty good. Helicopter took him to hospital as we all sat in gridlock for 2 hours. F bikers.😁
It’s not that they are rude bikers, but rude people who ride bikes. Unfortunately, a lot of Harley guys (which I am) don’t know any biker etiquette. They just act like they’re the only bike on the road so often, and don’t even realize how foolish they look.
The biggest jerks on 2 wheels are bicyclist... Never abide by the rules of the rode (stop signs, slower vehicle keep right, signaling) They just ride in the middle won't move over Or on roads where speed limit is 45mph or higher!! Not smart or safe for ALL parties involved. They say we have a "right" to be out here... Ok then respect the rules that apply to everybody including you as well!!!
The whole waiting for someone to wave you by before you pass I don’t agree with. People have places to go. Been stuck behind slow riders on my way to work. They don’t own the road. Get out of the fast lane or stay off the highway if you can’t go the speed limit. Biker gangs are bad about that. They get all pissy if people pass them. Again the world doesn’t revolve around you. Stay all the way on the right. Some of us have places to go and shit to do.

As a scooter rider in ohio, i can say you for sure get some looks. I used to ride cruisers til i got in a wreck and broke my back. Its been a few years since i rode so i got a cheap light scooter to get back into it and i can say that they are an absolute blast! I of course want to get back on a bigger manual bike again soon but until then I will be on that scooter! No regrets no shame!

By law as a sport bike rider or supermoto especially superMoto you have to wheelie past every Harley you see every single one in any situation you have to wheelie. It's a law
I only wave if waved at and they're probably just going to get the finger guns in return. Oddly enough, cruiser riders seem to appreciate being met with a wheelie. If someone is riding slowly and I'm trying to jam, I'm going to pass. If I'm cruising and someone else passes, whatever. Hopefully we're all out there just trying to have a good time.
Cyclists (of which I've been for many years, both road & mt.) don't expect motorcyclists to see them as common 2 wheel brothers & sisters. Like you said, Harley owners don't even see Honda owners as motorcyclists, let alone seeing a guy in lycra on a 15 lbs bike as a fellow two-wheel rider out on the same roads with the same hazards. But Unless you're trying to wave to a guy with his head down during training, or to a group who are practicing some team race tactics, If you start off being friendly typically cyclists will be too, after all we're really out to do the same thing motorcyclists are out for.... a good time.
You got it right when you said "There ain't no rude bikers, just rude people on bikes." I went through a fair patch of import bikes of various sizes as I learned. I'm on a Road King now but keeep a Sportster for the quick trips and general fun about town. No matter what I was riding, I never had any trouble or snubs from Harley riders. The group that gets under my skin is bicyclists. "As a whole," as I'm sure there are exceptions. Nowhere will you find a group so single mindedly entitled, breaking every rule, putting themselves and others at risk, and generally creating the situations that get them run over. What possesses a person to ride up on a panel truck waiting on a corner at a light, turn signal clearly blinking away, then try to pass this truck on the right? I see it a LOT. The cyclist every time acts the poor, bullied victim. Idiots. I'm the first one in line to give my statement on the stupidity I just witnessed. Yes, a bicyclist has a perfect right to be on the road, even exclusive rights to the bike lanes. You do NOT have a license to break the rules of the road, ignore traffic lights, stop signs and pedestrians and act stupidly then claim to be a victim.
I wave when I can but if I’m navigating through heavy traffic I’m not paying attention to other motorcycles in the other lane but yea I always way when I pass any motorcycle or 2wheels
My favorite are the ones that try to bully a 4000lb car with a frightened teen girl at the wheel. So what? They almost pulled out in front or merged on you. That crap happens to us every day. They didn't mean it. And I agree, the "MaxPass" is uncool on unsuspecting riders.
I even ask before I even go up to another person bike if they say no i usually just tell them have a great day n usually they tell me to come on over n look!! Now I have 2 Harleys n I always wave because you never know if you will need that person latter on or not
From my experience it's been the sport bike riders. Just last weekend I took a nice ride with my fiancee's brother and dad we were cruising down the street and 2 sport bike riders came up so fast. They had to be going at least 80 to 90 miles per hour they blew past us and they were swerving in-and-out of cars.
You were probably blocking the road and not giving them space to pass. I ride all kinds of bikes. Sport, Harley, Dirt. Everything. Harley guys are most arrogant douchebags on earth. Especially just trying to make casual conversation in a parking lot. Even when I'm on my Harley other (older) Harley guys are too cool for conversation.

It's not always like this of course. I'm not saying all sport bike riders are douchebags just some. This goes for all bikers. You have the older Harley guys who love their cringey leather and spikes who refused to wave to other bikes. You have your young sport bike riders who are just Maniacs & Hooligans who refused to wave at you because you're riding a Harley and blow past you going 90 mph on a street where the speed limits 45. And even electric bikes where everyone who rides those kind of bikes believe that people who are using gasoline vehicles are evil because they're killing the planet and so on.
I ride a sports bike. I always try to wave and wavy back. Sometimes I'm in the middle of switching gears so I'll do the head- up fakes and hope they saw it. Some bikers just need to get over themselves
Imagine being that entitled though expecting people to wave at you all the time just because you're also on twos. Most of the time I'm focusing on the road.
The worse ones are the Wingers(Gold Wing Riders) when it comes to ragging on other brands of bikes. With Harley riders, I have found that sometimes people do not wave because they are busy watching traffic around them. Keep in mind that there are a lot of inexperienced riders and people who do no ride much.
Here in Massachusetts it’s the Harley Davison riders that are rude and don’t wave back most of the time. I’ll wave and if they don’t wave back I give them the finger. They act like they are better than you!
A word on "get a real bike": If you're saying that to someone you don't know; yeah. That's a douchbag move. If you're saying it to a friend who has a scooter, and wants to go on rides with your group of friends, it's more like saying "get something that can keep up with us". It's all well and good to just cruise along at 60 miles per hour (especially when that's around the speed limit) but when people have bikes that have some power, they like to use it once in a while. If the scooter guy is always keeping everyone from doing that because he's too slow to keep up, he's eventually not going to be invited, or they'll just start going so fast that he'll never catch up. Ride your own ride. Never allow people to push you past your limits, and make your own way to the bigger bikes at faster speeds. But don't let people bring you down, just because you aren't there yet.
The biker wave is almost as bad as the Jeep wave. There’s so many people on bikes out here in Texas that if I waved to all of them I’d be waving more than riding.
I've had a similar experience with Harley or Cruiser guys. Some of them are cool, but quite a lot of them dont wave back. It is what it is. Some people are going to be snobs. Just remember all of the cool riders who waved back. There are more of the cool guys, than the snobs. I wave most of the time, unless I'm in the middle of a turn, or a sketchy situation. That said, a few weeks ago, I was riding on the freeway, and everyone around me was breaking the speed limit, but I was going a little faster than everyone else. On the opposite side of the freeway, a rider on a cruiser gave me the "cop" signal, so I immediately let off the throttle, (matching speed with everyone else) and sure enough, in the median was a Smokey waiting to pounce! Much love to the unknown Cruiser rider. Thanks brother!
A lot of bikers are rude to cagers and it gives bikers a bad name. Tailgating, speeding and blowing by cars, revving at stoplights, veering all over the road, etc.

There are road bike snobs on two wheel bicycles. They feel like there better because they ride the most expensive bicycle on the market. some of those bicycles cost as much as a motorcycle.
In Cali everyone is respectful, I’d say 99% wave back. I always tell people bikers are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Even in Mexico I rode out there alone and made friends
CC, while I try to wave to other bikers, I won't do it if it gets in the way of operating my bike safely; my first priority out there is to RIDE THE BIKE! Sometimes, I won't notice a biker coming, because I'm scanning and happen to be looking away as they come by. If someone doesn't wave to me, I give 'em the benefit of the doubt, and assume they didn't see me because they were busy operating their bike safely; I assume that they were looking to the right while scanning, looking at their gauges, or something similar. There have been plenty of times I did the same, so I cut other riders some slack if they don't wave back at me. When I had my ZRX1100, I blew by people ALL THE TIME! I remember one time I got behind a small group of Harley riders that were just taking their time. When the road went from one lane each way to two, I blew by 'em. That bike brought out my squid demons, big time! Now, with my Royal Enfield Meteor 350, I'd just settle in behind 'em and enjoy the ride like they're doing... :)

I do a head node to every rider(what's done in Australia instead of a wave), but only get one back from old guys🤣 on adventure bikes. I think they hate my bright pink helmet, gloves and shoes😄...or maybe it's because I'm on a 250cc...and yes they constantly ask when I'm upgrading "never"
I always got crap from other Harley riders for having a xl 1200c sportster, bike is so small…good thing we stop every 100 miles for gas…etc…just being douchey for no reason 🤷🏻♂️ damn near got robbed on the highway in Mississippi from some prospects in a bike gang. Rode up beside me and pulled a gun on me, I pulled mine from my vest they nodded and took off. They surrounded and pinned me between 3 of their bikes on the highway. I sold my Harley and won’t have another one, and it’s sad I’m a veteran too and love everything most Harley riders stand for, but I can’t stand the Harley crowd…I’m looking for a 600 or liter bike, maybe dual sport…but no more cruisers the crowd ruined it for me

I give the biker wave to anyone enjoying bike life I don't care what you ride as long as you enjoy your self I've gotten more waves and attention from other bikers riding my 200cc mini chopper my motorized bicycle and my scooter than my big Bikes I had a few groups invite me to ride around town with them riding my mini chopper and my motorized bicycle currently ride with AZ Scooter Club
You're right about the haters being everywhere, there's plenty here in your comments that are hung on one thing or another and don't acknowledge the good, lots of Harley riders especially because there is A LOT of them. Even non-Harley bikes get called Harleys. Anyway, my rude experience was when a sport biker blew past me in the same lane. First off, it spooked me. Second, it's rude. And third, it's dangerous as hell! I didn't even know they were coming up until it happened, glad I didn't swerve for a pothole in that one moment.💀
Cycle cruza, mind doing an etiquette video regarding actions towards non motorcycle users? for example excessive revving in residential areas, pipes that are deafening etc... cheers :)

I get a lot of positive waves and stuff like that. And yes, I have an e bike. But it is a ninja three hundred r body. I would say about seventy five percent of the time I get a wave. Usually because it will go 87kph, which is 56mph. So they don't realize until i'm past them that it is a e-bike. Lol.
The dudes on HD are next level rude. I would never buy a HD no matter how nice the bikes because I never want to be seen to be part of that ignorant bunch.

Depending what the situation is, I frequently lift my chin or nod my head in acknowledgment of their presence, but if everything is cool I drop two fingers. It’s cool and wholesome - but don’t do it on Bike week, it’s a given , keep your hands on the bars and your head on a swivel. That’s “nod” territory at best, but I never take it personally at any time. You don’t know what is in the mind of another person. You may be right that the worst offenders are the HD riders. The demographic is older, and we have a lot of shit on our minds , maybe it’s taking all their concentration just to kill that noise and have a solitary moment of bliss before jumping back in the fray. Anyway, no one should get into a twist over it. Choose to believe they are hyper focused, like you might be in a challenging serious of turns, just in a different way. 🤞
Your not wrong about most Harley riders. Most don't wave at me, when I'm on my sport bike. I have a Harley V-ROD, but I do not ride it as much as my other bikes, because it is a one trick pony type of bike. For sunny days only. Peace..

I've been riding for 5 years and wave to every single rider I pass from a grom to a trike. That being said Harley Davidson riders are without a doubt the most sensitive and rude group I encounter. It's like they are bike racist lmao.
That has been my experience too overall for as long as I have been riding. They need to go to biker etiquette school. lol

100% true, same results here in Florida. But I can tell you that when I had my Honda Grom and Honda Ruckus even some cocky sportbikers didn't wave back...

They just need to be ignored and shunned on an individual bases. Been on motorcycles since I could tip toe my first dirtbike(4yrs old) and been riding on the streets (on and off) for 20yrs.
My first bike was a Ninja 300. I had to deal with the “get a real bike” for years. I currently have a ZX10R and run A Group on track days. All the “get a real bike” guys are C Group.
I would never say that to any rider. That being said I do have a slight dislike for bikes like the ninja 300 that look like a super bike but are very low power. But hey if I had owned 1 I would probably have a different opinion
I've ridden small capacity bikes for years and I've learnt a lot of skills that I might not have learned if I started on a higher capacity bike, i.e. how to carry corner speed despite low cc, rev matching, trail braking, how to ride smoothly and not agitate the suspension with abrupt inputs, how to ride in wind on a lighter bike, how to ride different road surfaces, hazard avoidance, commuting skills, i.e. "lane choice, lane position, escape routes" emergency braking, how to hold a throttle, how to shift weight, how to weight the foot pegs, all that good stuff. Now I'm learning how to ride off-road and adding a whole new skill set. I do want to ride a litre bike and I'll get around to it one day but when I do I won't be an idiot or an asshole.
The stereotype of HD riders being rude likely comes from a lot of Vietnam vets riding Harleys. They've seen shit and done shit so I don't think they care to look like nice guys. That's fine and honestly doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is when I'm riding and see someone who is absolutely reckless on a bike or doesn't even know how to handle the thing in basic situations like a 90 degree corner. The rest is all good.
Don’t pass on the right in the same lane
The only time I don’t wave is if I can’t take my hand off my handle bar at that moment but I’ll do a head nod and hope they see that, had a cop wave to me while he was riding the other day thought that was pretty cool my first time waving back to one
CC, I’m a big fan and you helped get me on two wheels. Keep up the great vids. I got into riding late (in my 40s) and I am still grappling with why being on two wheels comes with an unspoken set of rules that don’t have anything to do with safety. I was really excited to be a part of the riding community so I wave to everyone. I understand sometimes other rides can’t wave back because they’re working the controls, but sometimes They don’t wave back because they simply don’t want to. I have yet to receive a wave back from any clubs. But group riders seem to always wave. Clubs blow past me on the freeway, but make it clear that I can’t pass unless I ask for permission. As a long time bicyclist I always waved to every motorcycle because I'm a goofball and after dozens of guys not waving it was a Harley rider that finally waved back. Now that I have a motorcycle I got to be that guy to someone else, felt great
I’ve been on my motorcycle for 18 years now. The only real rude statement I heard came from a fellow Triumph rider. I got to talking to with a guy at a dealer sponsored event about the history of Triumph. He looked at my 2007 Triumph T 100. He said, “ I have a real Triumph from 1978.” Now, I could have asked him about the reliability of his Co-op built bike, but I chose to walk away.
Wise move mate old triumph owners tend to be a special breed of stupid even back then they'd throw out the same attitude towards the Bonneville with regards to whether it was unit or pre-unit construction even though I'm pretty sure both were made at the Meriden factory you really can't make it up :D
It's mostly Harley rider's that don't wave back from my experience also When I wave I hold two fingers out that stands for two wheel's down I put three fingers out for the guys on trikes lol 😂

Here at my city, bicycles are a great feature. Lots of trails and some roads. We always give each other a small head shake to great each other.
I've had guys pull up on me right next to me ,I get alittle upset, One guy wheelied behind me came close to me,I gave him a shot of 200hp and took off.
Facts. I am surprised we see any etiquette anywhere. Also I am interested to know how many bikers nearly get run off the road (while obeying all traffic laws and being awesome), simply for being on a motorcycle.

I'd like to add one caveat to the biker wave rule. Only give the wave if its safe to do so, if you feel its not safe to wave give a nod. I'm not condemning all HD riders, my brother has a Harley, but the only person who didnt wave back at me was on a Harley. That didn't really bother me as much as the look he shot my way the head shake he did. It was the nah man head shake, felt judgmental to me. But, like I said just the one guy so whatever I guess.

I am on my 2nd Harley and it pisses me off that so many Harley guys act all uppity. They actually think they're better than others because they can afford what others can't ......(.or just choose not to buy). It sames the entire Harley Community. I wave at everyone on 2 wheels.
I'm a relatively new rider and I'm on a harley. I try to wave to every other biker I see, but sometimes I'm too focused on driving and its too late before I realize they're over there. Not trying to be rude, just focusing on not dying 😂

I have never seen any biker ride carefully.
I was on the turnpike (speed limit 70) and 2 crotch rockets come flying up behind me right on my ass. I was in the passing lane during rush hour and both lanes were clogged up pretty good and the bikers shot in between everybody else.
About 2 miles up ahead (I found out later) the one biker hit a gator(retread) and wiped out pretty good. Helicopter took him to hospital as we all sat in gridlock for 2 hours.

Unfortunately, a lot of Harley guys (which I am) don’t know any biker etiquette. They just act like they’re the only bike on the road so often, and don’t even realize how foolish they look.
The biggest jerks on 2 wheels are bicyclist... Never abide by the rules of the rode (stop signs, slower vehicle keep right, signaling) They just ride in the middle won't move over
Or on roads where speed limit is 45mph or higher!! Not smart or safe for ALL parties involved. They say we have a "right" to be out here... Ok then respect the rules that apply to everybody including you as well!!!
The whole waiting for someone to wave you by before you pass I don’t agree with. People have places to go. Been stuck behind slow riders on my way to work. They don’t own the road. Get out of the fast lane or stay off the highway if you can’t go the speed limit. Biker gangs are bad about that. They get all pissy if people pass them. Again the world doesn’t revolve around you. Stay all the way on the right. Some of us have places to go and shit to do.

As a scooter rider in ohio, i can say you for sure get some looks. I used to ride cruisers til i got in a wreck and broke my back. Its been a few years since i rode so i got a cheap light scooter to get back into it and i can say that they are an absolute blast! I of course want to get back on a bigger manual bike again soon but until then I will be on that scooter! No regrets no shame!

I have owned a KLR650, FZ6, Fatboy, and aDRZ-400SM. I wave at anyone on 2 wheels. I have yet to have a BMW rider wave back on any of my bikes.

By law as a sport bike rider or supermoto especially superMoto you have to wheelie past every Harley you see every single one in any situation you have to wheelie. It's a law
I came up my own code with Harley riders and that is let them wave first because around 1/2 wouldn't wave back .
I only wave if waved at and they're probably just going to get the finger guns in return. Oddly enough, cruiser riders seem to appreciate being met with a wheelie. If someone is riding slowly and I'm trying to jam, I'm going to pass. If I'm cruising and someone else passes, whatever. Hopefully we're all out there just trying to have a good time.

Cyclists (of which I've been for many years, both road & mt.) don't expect motorcyclists to see them as common 2 wheel brothers & sisters. Like you said, Harley owners don't even see Honda owners as motorcyclists, let alone seeing a guy in lycra on a 15 lbs bike as a fellow two-wheel rider out on the same roads with the same hazards. But Unless you're trying to wave to a guy with his head down during training, or to a group who are practicing some team race tactics, If you start off being friendly typically cyclists will be too, after all we're really out to do the same thing motorcyclists are out for.... a good time.
I'm in Australia. I've been riding my E-bike a lot recently and got more waves from bikers than I do on my motorcycle.
You got it right when you said "There ain't no rude bikers, just rude people on bikes." I went through a fair patch of import bikes of various sizes as I learned. I'm on a Road King now but keeep a Sportster for the quick trips and general fun about town. No matter what I was riding, I never had any trouble or snubs from Harley riders. The group that gets under my skin is bicyclists. "As a whole," as I'm sure there are exceptions. Nowhere will you find a group so single mindedly entitled, breaking every rule, putting themselves and others at risk, and generally creating the situations that get them run over. What possesses a person to ride up on a panel truck waiting on a corner at a light, turn signal clearly blinking away, then try to pass this truck on the right? I see it a LOT. The cyclist every time acts the poor, bullied victim. Idiots. I'm the first one in line to give my statement on the stupidity I just witnessed. Yes, a bicyclist has a perfect right to be on the road, even exclusive rights to the bike lanes. You do NOT have a license to break the rules of the road, ignore traffic lights, stop signs and pedestrians and act stupidly then claim to be a victim.
I wave when I can but if I’m navigating through heavy traffic I’m not paying attention to other motorcycles in the other lane but yea I always way when I pass any motorcycle or 2wheels
My favorite are the ones that try to bully a 4000lb car with a frightened teen girl at the wheel. So what? They almost pulled out in front or merged on you. That crap happens to us every day. They didn't mean it. And I agree, the "MaxPass" is uncool on unsuspecting riders.

I try to wave to everybody it doesn't matter if you are on a scooter or dirt bike or Harley or even a tricycle I try to be courteous to everybody
From my experience it's been the sport bike riders. Just last weekend I took a nice ride with my fiancee's brother and dad we were cruising down the street and 2 sport bike riders came up so fast. They had to be going at least 80 to 90 miles per hour they blew past us and they were swerving in-and-out of cars.
You were probably blocking the road and not giving them space to pass.
I ride all kinds of bikes. Sport, Harley, Dirt. Everything. Harley guys are most arrogant douchebags on earth. Especially just trying to make casual conversation in a parking lot. Even when I'm on my Harley other (older) Harley guys are too cool for conversation.

This goes for all bikers. You have the older Harley guys who love their cringey leather and spikes who refused to wave to other bikes. I ride a sports bike. I always try to wave and wavy back. Sometimes I'm in the middle of switching gears so I'll do the head- up fakes and hope they saw it. Some bikers just need to get over themselves

Imagine being that entitled though expecting people to wave at you all the time just because you're also on twos. Most of the time I'm focusing on the road.
The worse ones are the Wingers(Gold Wing Riders) when it comes to ragging on other brands of bikes. With Harley riders, I have found that sometimes people do not wave because they are busy watching traffic around them. Keep in mind that there are a lot of inexperienced riders and people who do no ride much.

Here in Massachusetts it’s the Harley Davison riders that are rude and don’t wave back most of the time. I’ll wave and if they don’t wave back I give them the finger. They act like they are better than you!
On my MT09 in Savannah GA no cruisers be waving back to me maybe the occasional Indian or Japanese cruiser but not often

A word on "get a real bike":
If you're saying that to someone you don't know; yeah. That's a douchbag move.
If you're saying it to a friend who has a scooter, and wants to go on rides with your group of friends, it's more like saying "get something that can keep up with us".
It's all well and good to just cruise along at 60 miles per hour (especially when that's around the speed limit) but when people have bikes that have some power, they like to use it once in a while.
If the scooter guy is always keeping everyone from doing that because he's too slow to keep up, he's eventually not going to be invited, or they'll just start going so fast that he'll never catch up.
Ride your own ride. Never allow people to push you past your limits, and make your own way to the bigger bikes at faster speeds.
But don't let people bring you down, just because you aren't there yet.
The biker wave is almost as bad as the Jeep wave. There’s so many people on bikes out here in Texas that if I waved to all of them I’d be waving more than riding.
I ride a harley and always wave at sport bike riders. Most never wave back at me.

I've had a similar experience with Harley or Cruiser guys. Some of them are cool, but quite a lot of them dont wave back. It is what it is. Some people are going to be snobs. Just remember all of the cool riders who waved back. There are more of the cool guys, than the snobs.
I wave most of the time, unless I'm in the middle of a turn, or a sketchy situation.
That said, a few weeks ago, I was riding on the freeway, and everyone around me was breaking the speed limit, but I was going a little faster than everyone else. On the opposite side of the freeway, a rider on a cruiser gave me the "cop" signal, so I immediately let off the throttle, (matching speed with everyone else) and sure enough, in the median was a Smokey waiting to pounce!

A lot of bikers are rude to cagers and it gives bikers a bad name. Tailgating, speeding and blowing by cars, revving at stoplights, veering all over the road, etc.

There are road bike snobs on two wheel bicycles. They feel like there better because they ride the most expensive bicycle on the market. some of those bicycles cost as much as a motorcycle.

In Cali everyone is respectful, I’d say 99% wave back. I always tell people bikers are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Even in Mexico I rode out there alone and made friends
CC, while I try to wave to other bikers, I won't do it if it gets in the way of operating my bike safely; my first priority out there is to RIDE THE BIKE! Sometimes, I won't notice a biker coming, because I'm scanning and happen to be looking away as they come by. If someone doesn't wave to me, I give 'em the benefit of the doubt, and assume they didn't see me because they were busy operating their bike safely; I assume that they were looking to the right while scanning, looking at their gauges, or something similar. There have been plenty of times I did the same, so I cut other riders some slack if they don't wave back at me.
When I had my ZRX1100, I blew by people ALL THE TIME! I remember one time I got behind a small group of Harley riders that were just taking their time. When the road went from one lane each way to two, I blew by 'em. That bike brought out my squid demons, big time! Now, with my Royal Enfield Meteor 350, I'd just settle in behind 'em and enjoy the ride like they're doing... :)
I have been riding Harleys for 50 years, I have helped all riders on the road. I ride a Harley and you ride what you want. Treat me right, I will treat you better. Treat me wrong, well you get the idea

I do a head node to every rider(what's done in Australia instead of a wave), but only get one back from old guys🤣 on adventure bikes. I think they hate my bright pink helmet, gloves and shoes😄...or maybe it's because I'm on a 250cc...and yes they constantly ask when I'm upgrading "never"
in portugal some people nod, dont see the hate towords scooters here, honda pcx 125 and yamaha nmax 125 are the most sold and seen on the streets.
I always got crap from other Harley riders for having a xl 1200c sportster, bike is so small…good thing we stop every 100 miles for gas…etc…just being douchey for no reason 🤷🏻♂️ damn near got robbed on the highway in Mississippi from some prospects in a bike gang. Rode up beside me and pulled a gun on me, I pulled mine from my vest they nodded and took off. They surrounded and pinned me between 3 of their bikes on the highway. I sold my Harley and won’t have another one, and it’s sad I’m a veteran too and love everything most Harley riders stand for, but I can’t stand the Harley crowd…I’m looking for a 600 or liter bike, maybe dual sport…but no more cruisers the crowd ruined it for me

I swear, I was gonna start my youtube channel on this topic, and you covered about all i was gonna discuss. It was weird, like everything you said was almost verbatim what I woulda said,lol. I have love for ALL bikes, skaters, rollerbladers, etc..I dont care, everyones out doing them...their thing they love. And here in MD, the only riders that I's say safely, atleast 3out of 5, ATLEAST 3 out of 5 Harley riders dont wave and just snub ya. Too good for anyone else. My mom in law I live with has a Harley, my brothers had 30 Harleys, my dad has a Victory, my brother and I grew up racing motocross, Im a retired early from racing, 2x Cali state champ on minis way back in the day. My grandpa showed to my races on a Vulcan and he was in his 80's age wise. My dad raced Kawi's, Triumph, Bultaco's, etc. I have a Harley keychain on my keys, Im not a Harley hater,lol..but damn if they aint the rudest bunch almost always out here. Alot of em, not all. But it gets the job done, it reminds people we need protection, I NEVER ride without full gear, or ALMOST full gear,meaning helmet,boots,gloves, pants,and chest and back plate protector, riding jacket with pads, sometimes i dont wear the jacket but wear my over shoulder Icon or Speed n Strength back/chest protector. STUUUUPID to ride with no gear. Ive seen people literally die right in front of me from no helmet. 7 yrs old, dude on some kind of small Harley type of bike, was wheelie'ing it and ran right into the back tailgate of someones truck and went head first into the back of the cab right above the sliding glass window, and the square light fixture actually like cookie cutter punched a hole in his skull and his brains/fluid were spilling out as soon as he flopped over the side of the bed onto the street right in front of my mom and I as we were driving past slowly as this dude was all over the road showing off for friends by wheelie'ing up n down the street in front of his or a friends house we guessed. wear gear people.)
I give the biker wave to anyone enjoying bike life I don't care what you ride as long as you enjoy your self I've gotten more waves and attention from other bikers riding my 200cc mini chopper my motorized bicycle and my scooter than my big Bikes I had a few groups invite me to ride around town with them riding my mini chopper and my motorized bicycle currently ride with AZ Scooter Club

You're right about the haters being everywhere, there's plenty here in your comments that are hung on one thing or another and don't acknowledge the good, lots of Harley riders especially because there is A LOT of them. Even non-Harley bikes get called Harleys. Anyway, my rude experience was when a sport biker blew past me in the same lane. First off, it spooked me. Second, it's rude. And third, it's dangerous as hell! I didn't even know they were coming up until it happened, glad I didn't swerve for a pothole in that one moment.💀

I get a lot of positive waves and stuff like that. And yes, I have an e bike. But it is a ninja three hundred r body. I would say about seventy five percent of the time I get a wave. Usually because it will go 87kph, which is 56mph. So they don't realize until i'm past them that it is a e-bike. Lol.

Depending what the situation is, I frequently lift my chin or nod my head in acknowledgment of their presence, but if everything is cool I drop two fingers. It’s cool and wholesome - but don’t do it on Bike week, it’s a given , keep your hands on the bars and your head on a swivel. That’s “nod” territory at best, but I never take it personally at any time. You don’t know what is in the mind of another person. You may be right that the worst offenders are the HD riders. The demographic is older, and we have a lot of shit on our minds , maybe it’s taking all their concentration just to kill that noise and have a solitary moment of bliss before jumping back in the fray. Anyway, no one should get into a twist over it. Choose to believe they are hyper focused, like you might be in a challenging serious of turns, just in a different way. 🤞
Your not wrong about most Harley riders. Most don't wave at me, when I'm on my sport bike. I have a Harley V-ROD, but I do not ride it as much as my other bikes, because it is a one trick pony type of bike. For sunny days only. Peace..
Was at the gas station last weekend and Had a old man ask me to help push his harley off battery was done I told him yes then he looked at my r6 said is that your bike I said yes he looked at me then told me it looked good for a rice rocket 😆 I was thinking I'm not the one asking people to push my shit off 🤣🤣🤣 but me and my uncle got him goin anyway
