I really really enjoy Sifu Sergio's content. Sergio explores every Wing Chun lineage beforehand. Learn 1 lineage fully first, but then learn how to explore applications from purge lineages. When I'm stuck on an issue, I look at a few different Yip Man derived schools and a couple Foshan schools to find out different ways to apply one method, then I reduce it to the best methodology, but make exceptions to the rule... example a Yuen Kay Huen sau has a jut first (but it's too break grip), but Yip Man has the move forward, raise your arm, and the sink down in a jut as you huen. Both are correct use of huen but used for different situations.
If you want a tripodal dummy form I can sell you one! But it won’t be as ridiculous as the ones made up by many so-called WT masters in Europe. I’ll give you a good price, I’ll even throw in the secret blue sections of the wooden dummy.
I watched a German EWTO guy call Alex out about kuen to, debunking the KFG, and he was very passionate about it. Then he demonstrated kuen to, and like GSP, I was not impressed. However, he looked very strong and scary and if I met him in real life, I'd be like, yeah man, ancient super secret form that'll give you super powers, cool.
Not surprised by this. Now we have knowledge shared from different schools of WC from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam etc. My favorite source of these is through the videos of Sifu Sergio
Hey. I'm curious about what you learned from Sifu Leung Ting. I'm practicing myself a wall bag form, learned from my Sifu, but never heard about it as a super secret form, just a part of our training and perhaps a way to diversify boxing form for new comers. It could be awesome to see your use of a wall bag and YOUR way to punch it 🤩
Thank you for your comment. Whether one calls the Kuen To "secret" (or not) or chooses just to call it a "wall bag form", my only issue is the claims on its origin. For many in the European WT world they might just be learning a "wall-bag form" but not know what the origin of this thing is. There are many things taught that are like the game of telephone - first guy creates "Kuen To", second guy teaches it, third guy teaches it... etc. by the fifteenth guy this is just a "wall-bag form" with spurious origins and utility now 70% off track from the standard HK WT method. The second issue for me is whether this has value regardless of who created it. From what I have seen, people seem to to confuse the diversity of combos (up down; double; cross; etc. etc. etc.) with being "better" than plain old punching with correct methods. As I've said many times, WT people need to learn the original methodology of how to hit (method, distance, timing, skin conditioning protocols, and objectives of) the wall bag. This is a very time consuming, but necessary process. IF the student learns the very "boring" but proper way to punch, then I quite honestly don't care what they do after, i.e. create your own "beautiful snowflake" method of hitting the wall bag. When WT practitioners don't know the HK method but can do all this "diversified" zig zaggy, up down, criss cross apple sauce, I tend to roll my eyes a bit. For fighting you need a strong punch, not criss cross apple sauce. (To be open, I did not just write this reply, it's a copy and paste because I get so many messages similar to yours, I simply repaste my answer. As for learning the wall-bag method of Sifu Leung Ting, which coincidentally is the same as that of Sifu Chan Chee Man, I teach at 1024 Sixth Ave 4fl, NY, NY 10018 and our website is www.citywt.com)
...lol...I bet the "one lie" made all of the students in the seminar really perk up, pay attention, and LEARN the darn thing...placebo sort of effect...or "skillful means" if you wanna be more Ch'an woo woo about it...but yeah, it would have been better at the end if they'd have had the useful lie deconstructed for them...at least maybe it would have been more ethical.
This story kind of reminds me of William Cheung's claims that he got a different form from GM Yip Man and was the sucessor of all the WC lineage. Maybe all of GM Yip Man's disciple added their stuff in their system and claimed that it was from GM Yip Man. We will never get to know the truth.
William cheung is a liar. He learned most of his wing-chun from a red boat lineage after having trained at Yip man's school. To explain why his wing-chun is so different he makes up stuff. Ip man taught students differently according to their profficiency. But why do students like Leung Ting and William Cheung claim they know all sorts of secret stuff while much higher viewed students like Wong Shun Leung, Lok yiu, Leung sheung, Chu Chong Tin dont ever mention secret stuff.
I don't like the EWTO/ leung ting lineage and Kernspecht often gets put in bullshido videos on youtube and based off that footage I cannot imagine that what is shown will have fighting application. Lineage is not everything but since the EWTO is the largest I mostly blame them for commercializing and wattering down wing-chun by spreading bullshit like this kuen to form. I started training in wing-chun when I was 9. The lineage is WSL/Barry Lee. Now most wing-chun people don't know who Barry Lee is but he is one of, if not the best. For years I did not know and cared for in what lineage I trained, but since seeing all this bullshit wing-chun on youtube I have seen that I am priviliged to have such a great source for the last 14 years.
“Kuen To” and its deadly applications sound like it would be fitting for a “Dreison Hypothetical”…
:-) Hey Sifu Alex! I'm a practitioner of Leung Ting WT here in Germany and THANK GOD(!!) I've NEVER heard of the "Kuen To Form"!
Praise Thor, son of Odin.

You should probably go tell him that you like his content, he really likes it when people tell him how great he is.
Hello! Thanks for this Video. What is with the Tripodal dummy Form? Can you make a video about it? Greetings from Germany!
If you want a tripodal dummy form I can sell you one! But it won’t be as ridiculous as the ones made up by many so-called WT masters in Europe. I’ll give you a good price, I’ll even throw in the secret blue sections of the wooden dummy.
What about the super secret 2 man form sold as an amazon kindle ebook??
Post a link! I'd love to see it...
any questions

Being a tough guy is a separate issue from the historicity of a form. Like I said, some people can’t separate their identity from the information.

What are you talking about ? The Kuen To form is a super secret form descending directing from Ng Mui...lol
Don’t tell anyone!

@@TheKungFuGenius perfectly clear 👍
next thing he's going to tell us we didn't have to suspend weights to are genitals or break spears on are necks to wing chun masters.
I think I know who you're talking about.....it's (wall bag form) no longer on his UA-cam page! Not a bad drill, but not an ancient WC form!
Exactly
Nice shirt you have!! Of kung-fu legends!!
Thanks! My wife found if for me!
@@TheKungFuGenius That is so kool!!
Lol when my sifu teaches anything that didnt come from grandmaster doc fai wong he borderline brags about it

Except this wasn’t from one of GM Yip Man’s disciples.
Funny mistranslation. Kuen tou is just fist set or form
Yes, but this wasn’t a mistranslation - the creator intentionally used it to justify his creation.
I'm lucky. Never heard of it
Praise Jesus!
👍👍👍

It can't be enough NYC'ish!!!
Hahah word
How is it made up? Its a form. Call a german form then.
Watch the video again, slowly perhaps, if you missed the point.
