You can't have enough portable radios. Compact SWs are antenna-deficient.
That's quite the find.
The RF gain comes in handy for crowded FM bands 👍
Great find !!!!!!
The record out port is a DIN-5 port. The schematics online indicate that pin 1 is ground, while pins 2 & 3 are left and right signals.

I have the 1st radio you featured, but it's slightly different! It's great. I think I got it second hand years ago. It's in my Emergency supplies.
I've had two. Radio Shack had the same radio with there own label. It got hit by lightning. Then bought that one. It has SSB so you can receive ham bands. 73's KM4RFP
Woohoo! I found mine for $20 too and this video helped me figure some things out about it. Similar condition, exceptine still has a sticker proclaiming "NEW WORLD BAND RECEIVER" on it, but alas no strap :(

I found this same model in perfect condtion with the box it came in at a thrift store for 12 bucks plus tax. It's beefy but at that price it would have been worth it as a doorstop.

Just found one for $20
One thing of GREAT importance ! Marine corps Brother came home... radioman . Gotta shortwave , called me to help set it up . I arrive with frequency list and we began rigging and auxiliary antenna . Can only get Alex Jones at that time of day . In 20 minutes an Apache helicopter was sitting on top of his house . Then it SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY circled his house and the other houses around him ! We could see the pilots face ! It was Xraying the ground looking for hiding places ! Don't even think about using a even a receiver during a situation where you must hide to remain safe ! The government is not your friend ! After this incident we did an investigation into it and found out it's sometimes a common occurrence ! TV towers have sensors used by the fbi . Spoke with two people who built and maintain the towers and the elevators on them . Smart meters also involved ! Antennas on water tanks also ! Many martial law drills there ! Foreign troops.....NC ! TRUE STORY ! Once they know where you are you're done!
