This tool can only be used for crimping an open end wire,from the way it looks it can't be used for wires that needs to be joined together by a butt connector.I am actually trying to get a crimper that can be used for crimping butt connectors that will not be in a flat or square shape after crimping but in a circular shape.I have being trying for a while now to get this particular type but have not been able to get any.If by chance there is any model that you know kindly get in touch with me.
You are looking for a closed barrel crimper without a contact stop/locator. You could use the crimper shown here just without the pin locator turret installed. But there are much cheaper options if you don't need the locator. Check amazon, there are plenty.
