They really have written many amazing songs. These Days the album really stands out against the rest. For me it was the only album that wasn't all full of hope, it wallowed in loss which made it so powerful. They haven't done anything as dark since.
This song (and this version) really highlights how great Tico is as a drummer. He plays so well and restrained on this one, and even though it sounds simple it is really difficult, especially the last part where he plays softer and softer. TICO RULES!!

Nope, never gonna happen. He can't sing this song anymore, in truth he can barely sing anything anymore. But no matter what, this song will always be my favourite #1 song in the world. I've been lucky enough to hear it live on several occasions, but nothing will ever top Helsinki 1996 - the final show of the These Days tour.
You can tell this song meant something to Jon in 1994/95 when he wrote this because the power in the recording and the rarities of him doing it live. The raw, unkept emotion in his voice is insane, it's easily the best track on that album imo.
God is good all of the time. Have you seen the video Jon singing 'Hallelujah'? Its another song that Jon loses himself in the song. They're both excellent. I've listened to him 36 years. Those are the two most humble and powerful songs I've seen him sing. That man can sing.
