I sincerely hope that in due time/one fine day, Nick will come to address Ben as "father" or "papa". I understand that Nick may require some time to adjust & adapt to the new family, but Ben has demonstrated himself to be a true gentleman. Of course, Alec will always hold the special place as Nick's forever best dad ❤

Yeah, sometimes kids will call different names but with similar meaning, such as saying “papa” “mama” to their blood related parents, but saying daddy/mom to their stepmother/stepfather Normally the step ones are more formal
