Heard Sonny Rollins playing this and fell in love with the melody and wondered about the lyrics. Someone was kind enough to post the lyrics and you brought new life and meaning to a beautiful song. Wonderful.
Come, oh, songs! come, oh, dreams! Soft the gates of day close, Sleep, my birds, sleep, streams! Sleep, my wild rose! Pool and bud, hill and deep, You who wore my robes, sleep! Droop, East! die, West! Let my land rest. Woods, I woke your boughs! Hills, I woke your elf-throngs! Land, All thy hopes and woes Rang from me in songs! Come, oh, songs! come, oh,dreams! In our house is deep rest, Through the pines gleams, gleams, Bright the gold West, There the flutes shall cry, There the viols weep, Laugh, my dreams, and sigh! Sing, and vigil keep, Awake, wild rose.
I honestly wasn't really expecting much after browsing many (rather disappointing) renditions of this piece, but wow, what a voice! Absolutely beautiful.
My experience matched yours. So many performances lacking in feeling for a piece that just drips with emotion and beauty. This lady was just wonderful.
I love the singing!!! This recording is single-handedly making sure I can do my solo right for a competition Here are some timestamps I use a lot! Just in case anyone is like me haha 2:01 -finial high note 0:05 - beginning 0:40 - 2nd verse 1:17 - 3rd verse
What an amazing performance, I did not know it was a song for voice and piano and I am glad I found this, you made time stop with your voice! What a magic moment.
She has an amazing voice, but her stance is so unattractive and not appropriate for the song. Women who wear short dresses on stage really need to learn how to stand gracefully. So beautiful to listen to and so distracting to look at.
I disagree with y’all. If there’s a perceived awkwardness in the posture and movements, it’s part of the innocence of the song. The simplicity of the song is deceptive, and so is the pose! Anyway, it’s all lovely.

(Mrs.) Absolutely beautiful! What a gift you have. I find myself wondering what you are doing now. Still singing, I hope!
Well done. Lovely singing. I have only recently discovered this gorgeous piece. I never knew there were lyrics to it. Thank you.

Bravo!!! This is without a doubt the best version I’ve ever heard. What a blessing it is to hear this voice!
Well done Lindsay, what a great voice! I'm a pianist and I adore this piece. You sung it beautifully.

What key is this
F major.
This particular version is, however the original piece is written in A major.
The pianist doesn't react to how the singer breathes!
Lovely voice, needs to be more poised, practice a nicer way of standing,

@@ginnychudgar9088 this dress is short to you?
@@kataylove No, the dress isn't too short; but the signer needs to learn to stand with more poise.
Poor poise? short dress? Forsooth such knavery
