I barely comment on youtube at all, but I just really wanted to tell you how much I love all the videos that you make and put out every week. They’re clear, nicely paced and always relaxing to watch! Keep it up! ❤
Thank you so much. It was my mission to show that it is doable even for beginners if you take it step by step. If something if not clear from my video , fabrics-store has also done instructions step by step. 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting Cristina ❤️
I want to say thank you for the video tutorial. I am in the middle of making the Noa shirt and was utterly confused on how to attach the button band. I think my confusion stems not from their website but from the fact I finished making three Fairfield Button-Up shirts by Paper Theory for a friend of mine . Your video tutorial was a gift from the sewing gods since I was ready to put the shirt into the scrap bin (again).
Thank you so much Sonia for leaving this comment here 💛 it means so much to me, I made this video to help anyone who needs it. I'm glad you found it ☺️
So classic. I love a rayon button up shirt and I love that big bold poplin print. I also hate buttonholes, I can never seem to get them consistent one to the next. Also - I learned something called "scrunching" - you do it instead of putting in ease stitching. The way you do it is to sew a straight line of stitching but hold your finger right behind the presser foot, not allowing the fabric to flatten out but rather letting it bunch up toward the foot as you stitch. The stitching ends up wavy, just like ease stitching, already done for you. Not the conventional way but so much easier in my opinion. And whoever invented the burrito method is a genius, I use it all the time! ❤
Thank you Jen, you are so knowledgeable always ! ☺️ I have to say that "the buttonholes issue" I have is most probably because of my machine, more specific , with the buttonhole foot. I have seen some machines have it made from metal, at least the part touching the fabric. Mine is made from plastic and that doesn't slide nicely on fabrics. It is pure terror to just thinking about making buttonholes in this case, especially when I can destroy the whole thing right at the end 😅
I made this shirt for a project I needed to do for my sewing class, thank you so much for posting this tutorial it helped me a ton with the instructions that were hard to visualize
Lovely fabrics for both tops. I enjoyed your video. May I ask which country you live in. It looks looks so beautiful, I have never seen wild ducks in a natural pond. I live in South Africa and our countryside is very flat and dry in many parts.
Hi 👋🏻 , usually I wear size S for tops M if I want more oversized look. If you are beginner I suggest that you go slowly, step by step. Take the project in bite sizes. And see if there are other tutorials , it might give you another info that I didn’t include or different explanation ☺️
Hi 👋🏻, you definitely can if you want. It is little bit advanced but also not really. I advise to take it step by step. It feels less complicated and overwhelming. You don’t need overlock. Exposed seams are : side seams(which you can finish beautifully by french seams) and armhole seams(which you could use bias tape for finishing them) 😊good luck , you can do it 💪🏼🍀
Unfortuatley the collar stand is short by 1cm on each end. I checked the website instructions and comments and others have had the same issue. I think it might be time to update the pattern.
@@MaxyGorry78 Hi there and OMG, I wasn't expecting such a quick reply. Thank you so much, I just bought some fabric today and was getting ready, then I came across this comment and went uh-oh. (I'm a beginner sewer, so stuff like this freaks me out a bit). Thank you again and please have a great day :)
@zzzeus78 I'm still learning too and I spend a lot of time here on UA-cam watching tutorials and following sew-along videos, so I'm always here lol. My advice is to baste the collar to the collar stand to check it fits just in case the pattern has been adjusted to reflect the 2cm shortage. There's nothingnworse than having to unpick good stitching lol. But maybe cut the collar stand at the regular pattern size and the extended size so it's there ready if you need it.

Thank you so much 🤗 I really appreciate the time you took to write this comment, it gives a sense to what I do. Thank you ❤️
It's amazing how different the two shirts look withthe different types of fabric
I couldn’t make this shirt without your tutorial the tutorial on the thread is totally confusing! Thank you!
I’m happy that I could help 🥰
Thank you for the video tutorial. It's much easier to follow it this way 😊
I've had this pattern printed out and ready to use since summer. Maybe this will make me finally use it🙈 good job with the shirt, it looks great!
Go for it!☺️
thank you for a great tutorial...the instructions on fabric- store's site are a little lacking...now I feel more comfortable sewing this
One of the best tutorials I’ve seen, brilliant
I thought before that it is so difficult to sew this kind of shirt. Your video inspired me to make one. Thanks . Very helpful. ❤

You made that look so simple and you looked amazing in your shirts. Thank you
Such a great tutorial thanks! ❤
Glad you liked it!!🥰
I’m new to sewing so it’s very good to have a visual idea of the pattern. Bagging out (the burrito method) still really scares me though 😅
You can do it! 😉 Don't be scared 😊
Thank you! I'm thinking of sewing a short-sleeve shirt in rayon for summer (approaching here) and this video is super useful. Loving your channel
Hi Francisca 🙋🏼♀️ Glad it was helpful!🤗 💛
I Made it!! I'm pretty obsessed too. Thank you for the clear and concise instructions. The pattern is incredibly easy to follow too.
Amazing work!! Love the bird print!!
Great tutorial, thank you.
Very clear and to the point! Thanks for sharing! Please share more sew alongs . You are amazing!❤❤❤

Thank you so much. 😊 I live in Netherlands but I’m not Dutch , I’m Slovak.
Yes water is everywhere here 😅
Love the way the shirts turned out. I may have to sew one! Have you made any free Mood patterns? Just wondering how the instructions
I did, last time I think it was 🤔... Clementine dress. yea the instructions can be confusing 🤦🏼♀️
Another good video..!!!
Thank you so much for showing how to deal with the positive ease!!
Love this, very helpful, do you know where the cutting layout section is on this pattern
I didn't find it , but anyway I usually place pattern pieces the way that saves fabric, of course respecting the grain line on the pattern.
Can u please tell me how to draft & cut.. Thank you
Nice
What are your measurements? How did u cut it out? Good video but as a first timer, I'm totally confused 😔

Buttonholes are tricky, but my solution is to have tear away embroidery paper under the fabric. It gives the shirt stability.
I must tried that 😊
can you please share the song you use in the end of this video please 🙏. Thank you
I'm a beginner, can I sew this without using an overlocker?

Hola, el patrón del cuello si estaba bien de medidas?
what size pattern are you using? is it s,m,l or xl? And what is your height and weight?
I think I used the smallest size available. This shirt is slightly oversized , very slightly 😊
Unfortuatley the collar stand is short by 1cm on each end. I checked the website instructions and comments and others have had the same issue. I think it might be time to update the pattern.
Hello, I was about to make this shirt and thank god I came across this comment. Is it just the collar stand that has size problems?
@@zzzeus78 yes it's just the collar stand. I cut it again and added 1cm on each side and it fit perfectly.
