This is such a beautiful song, oh my god. BTW these are my interpretation on the lyrics: When V talks about the North, he is talking about his mother and his childhood. How guilty he felt once he realized what his mother was trying to tell him, but it was too late since she passed. He also originally wanted to paint/draw, but he was scared of putting his work out and being criticized by others. That is when he settled on photography. In his photography he makes a point to always include the sun, representing his mother and himself. This is where he gave up his childhood dream and sealed the guilt and trauma from losing his mother. When V talks about the South, it is obviously about Rika. He feels guilty that he couldn't give Rika his ideal love "like the sun" and constantly tries to make up for it. In this process, both of them end up getting hurt and it is a continuous cycle. Eventually, V realizes that this is the wrong way of loving and that it was actually his obsession of loving someone like this. Now there is nothing he can do with Rika since she's already decided the kind of person she wants to be. V cuts off this toxic relationship from his side. This is when V realizes that he is empty of emotion. He realizes that he was trying to imitate the type of love his mother gave him, though he couldn't quite understand it. His father also played a role in his lack of emotions since he decided everything for him for majority of his life. V understands now that he doesn't really know who he is and wants to discover himself, however the process has been going on this whole time. V doesn't mention the east since that is where he comes from, basically he is described like the sun. The Sun always rises from the East and sets in the West. When V talks about the West, he is talking about MC. How MC helped him realize that keeping secrets to protect everyone will not work out in the end. MC makes it clear that he has good intentions, but they are not the right ones. After everything happens, V understands that MC is right and soon falls in love with us. This is the first time he really feels love. However, he wants to find and be himself to make MC happy, but he first has to find out what that is. He tells MC to wait for him as he patches up his past and discovers himself. Now the Sun is on it's path where it belongs: to the West. Where it will set and love MC who has been waiting for him. I know this is long but thanks to anyone that read it!

His happy ending is literally the only ending that all of the characters are happy (of course you have to play his after ending). Although it's a bit dissappointing for me, his after ending explains a lot of things. If you save Jihyun, you save everyone. P.S. Do u guys think "you" in the south and north is Rika and "you" in the West is our MC? The compass is the song about V in his route trying to forge a new path with MC's love and help. At first, he looks to the South and north, there's Rika's broken dream and loss of love here. Not really. If you're thinking about it logically it's Zen. V really made many mistakes and He doesn't communicate with the rfa and always ready to sacrifice hiself. But Zen has always been there. No matter what route he always cheers for everyone and just being herself

anyone else here cause they're absolutely pissed about how cheritz decided to write V in Saeran's after ending? it makes no sense to me, it feels really inconsistent with how he's always been written in literally everything else, not just other routes but even earlier in Saeran's own route he was still the same man that would do nearly anything to keep all the people he cares about out of harm's way...I really don't understand how I'm supposed to find it believable that his character would take such a total 180 into being the antagonist. It really makes no sense to me. Even earlier on in Saeran's route he's doing what he can to help you and Saeran, like it's not like he's just bad in all of Saeran's route, even in most of Saeran's route he's still good, it's just the very end and then the after ending where all of a sudden his character makes this total 180, it frustrates me to no end. At least I still have V's after ending, the only one in which every main character, especially V and Saeran both, get to be happy by the end of it.
I think in Saerans after ending, V has given up on all his principles and resistance for the sake of appeasing Rika. At that time, she was actually in her most unstable state in my opinion. She lost everything and everyone except him so she embraced her "devil "fully. V thought that, if he just did what she wanted, he might undo the harm he thought he caused her by being her ultimate pillar of support. He lost all will to be his own person for her wellbeing so she could do literally anything she wanted. He hasn't changed at all in my opinion to the OG storyline. He was still the guy that sacrificed everything he had but now just to support one person instead of doing the same for the RFA. In his route, he finally learned not to be the sacrificial lamb but his own person, which lead to him being able to truly protect the people he cared about. Because he realized that, in order to safe everyone else, he had to safe himself first. That realization is missing in Saerans After ending and that's why he acted the way he did.
I'm just gonna say this, people be like "I don't like V and Rika, they did terrible things. It's their fault." You're right, it is their fault and both of them are able to own up to their actions at the end of V's after end. ALL the members of RFA suffered in their life, I thought you guys played the game. The RFA suffered because of their problems, but let us not forget that Saeran has also done terrible things to the RFA, especially in the bad ends, yet most of you seem to give him a pass because he's your favorite, or he's your boi. That said, V is also my husbando, but I still understand that he has to be held accountable for his actions. Rika also doesn't deserve to be hated on simply because you aren't able to forgive her. Both V and Rika find happiness in the after end, and I am genuinely glad she's able to live her life happy at last. Forgiveness doesn't come easily, but it's better than holding a petty grudge and be overtaken by hate.
It's in V's happy ending. If you get his happy ending and play his after ending, you will realize that all of the characters are alive and happy. Including Rika, Saeran; all of them. I won't spoil the plot further, but you have to play his after ending for sure. It's a bit dissapointing for me, but it's surely beautiful and it explains lot of things.

It's in V's happy ending. If you get his happy ending and play his after ending, you will realize that all of the characters are alive and happy. Including Rika, Saeran; all of them.
