(1-x)y'' + (1/x)y' + (x+3)y = 0 The definition of singular point says in y'' + p(x) y' + q(x) = 0 If p(x) or q(x) has pole at any x1 then x1 is singular point. In the equation that i mentioned is 0 a singular point? By your method ie equating coefficient of highest order to 0 it is not.

Sir in second problem at x=0 LHL = infinity and RHL = - infinity , therefore limit doesnt exist in extended real numbers also.... anyway it’s not finite so doesn’t alter the answer.. But your explanation is too good sir .. thank you

Sir aapne ye btaya tha ki m2-m1=1or2 if one is obtain then we will choose a+r for the solution And if 2 is obtain so we will choose a+2r but here in my books they not take a+2r for 2 and if i take so i am not get the same answer .........what can i do sir👆??????

The definition of singular point says in y'' + p(x) y' + q(x) = 0
If p(x) or q(x) has pole at any x1 then x1 is singular point. In the equation that i mentioned is 0 a singular point? By your method ie equating coefficient of highest order to 0 it is not.

Hello sir ...I have a small doubt here ...when we are checking for the irregular singular point for the last example...we take (x-x0) in the first case ryt...and what about the second case...we take (x-x0) or do we take (x-x0)^2 ? {Bcoz if x=0 then we take x^2 in the second case}

Sir in second problem at x=0 LHL = infinity and RHL = - infinity , therefore limit doesnt exist in extended real numbers also.... anyway it’s not finite so doesn’t alter the answer..

Sir, when p(x) is constant in equation .
p(x)y"+q(x)y'+r(x)y then how we can say whether it is ordinary or singular point.???
if there is no constant in solution then it is called singular solution

Sir aapne ye btaya tha ki m2-m1=1or2 if one is obtain then we will choose a+r for the solution
And if 2 is obtain so we will choose a+2r but here in my books they not take a+2r for 2 and if i take so i am not get the same answer .........what can i do sir👆??????
