In a pilots point of view, this is regarded as "positive landing" not hard landing. This is a norm during crosswind and gusty conditions. Because positive landing helps settle and keep the aircraft on the ground not to get drifted by the wind. It also helps to decelerate the aircraft more, because power settings during gusty conditions is much higher leading to a faster approach.
Hard landing, nothing. (hard landings usually result in a small bounce) Just a great crab correction. You don't want to float too much with this crosswind, as when power is reduced at the flare, you could drift more than you want to. It's bad technique to go for a greaser with crosswinds. Great landing, indeed. Thanks for sharing.
A firm touchdown in a crosswind like that in a plane as wide as that would be preferable I would say. You don't want the mains sliding to either side. You want the weight of the plane off the wings and onto the tires asap so the brakes can work and you can maintain directional control immediately
I came here after flying an A380 in a simulator for the first time and wondering is the thing this dang hard to fly in real life!? It goes in the air no problem but let me tell ya it does not want to come down. My heart goes out to the skilled pilot who have to fly the thing!
It is kind of an ugly plane! The huge expanse of the upper deck above the cockpit window line makes it look like a huge forehead! Like a less bulbous Super Guppy! Personally I don't care for the look of the A318-A320's either. Something about their proportions looks odd and the NLG is way aft and the MLG has a rearward rake, looks goofy. Boeing has made some good looking birds, love the 727. The 757 is a little odd though, long, slender profile but really tall storky gear. Also good looking: DC-8, DC-9 & MD80 series, L-1011, CV-880, CV-990, Caravelle, Comet, VC-10, Trident, etc.

Perfect, hard day to land an A380.
The A380 doesn't land, it sits down :)

Short and sweet. Thanks justplanes
Fantastic job by the pilots
I like how the wing instantly bends down when the spoilers deploy.
Awesome take...
Great video
Such an awesome plane!
Great landing !
As I like to say, he made the passengers his bitch.
Those tires just took a beating. A lot of rudder at the end.
Wow! Welcome to Miami! Ooch!
god damn that was a hard landing.

Very hard landing! I can see the horizontal stabilizers shake like paper
This is the Lufthansa crew's alternate to striking , plant the bus down firm! Haha
Wow, what a landing!
Wow! I felt it from my chair!
WOW that's a hard landing tnx for sharing :D
awesome!
Nice!
Damn !!! That rudder !!
really does look like a seagull body and wing from the back.
That is why Lufthansa Pilots are the best in the World!!!
nice !
WOW! D-AIMG?
Just dropped it on the runway!
Good and firm landing.
Having one side of your gear touch down before the other is never good.....
david schaaf unless its a crosswind landing except this pilot did it the opposite way.
Hard Crosswind landing at KMIA
OUCH!!!
Wow that was hard....
wow swaying all over, thats a rough one
This A380 is inspected after hard landing
whatever it takes i guess..
You guessed right fool
A landing as ugly as the plane itself :-)
So the landing was smooth as silk? :D
Adam's Blog Beauty (or lack thereof) is truly in the eye of the beholder :-)
No silk is beautyful that's the joke on this lelekoJumboJet and Biscayne Boeing you're right :-)

I'd knock you out
The only thing hard here is to have to read clueless comments of various sort, including the title.
Poor plane =D
that should come out of his/her paycheck...
Look up at 0.22 seconds, rudder all the way.
I don't know what you know, but this was the perfect landing teck., rudder in the end, just before touchdown.n
birna steingrimsdottir Some of people here docent know even how to park a car in a parking lot. :)
birna steingrimsdottir
...docent ?
i guess they all knew they had landed, eh?
Perfectly normal crosswind landing properly executed. Nothing special st all!
a380 is just too ugly to land it smoothly. :) Nothing like the beauty of the 747.
