For a car to have 700km range.
The car should be big to accomodate atleast 70KW battery with existing power effective motors.
Even if they produce high effective motors that consumes less power .that small punch car can't accommodate thay big batteries. Maximum with this platform and size they can only accomodate 45kw battery.
Which can increase ARAI range to 500km + .real range 400km
This is the maximum they can do.
Futurela high energy density
Combined with high power effective motors vandha. They can give 700km.range
To reach india it might take atleast 5-6 years.
Tesla makes 600km range.modles.
It costs minimum 30-40 lakhs.
People won't be ready to shell out that much even if Tesla launches for 30 lakhs with 500km range.
So getting a 500km range car for under 15 lakh is target. Please be realistic.dont ask 700km range and all for this budget.
If you want then wait for atleast 10 years
35kw is swet spot.
If you care less about tech features.
But badly more range just get Punch Adventure LR for 12.99 + taxes + insurance
Total comes around 13.6 lakh. Almost same as Citroen ec3 which comes with nasic features even in its top model also has less battery and features.
If you need extra features like big touch screen air purifier alloy wheels reverse pakrng cam then you can get empowered LR for 13.99 + insurance and taxes total 14.7 lakhs on road.
Dont go for sunroof , if possible get slow charger 3.3kw only. You may ignore empwoered plus variant too.
Either get adventure lr or empowered lr without sunroof and fast charger.
Its bang for bucks you pay.
You get medium range Nexon ev is this price. With leseer features.
Here you get smaller but powerful car with bigger battery with better featured and chasis.
Another 2 lakhs extta you can even get Mahindra XUV 400 for 17 lakhs on road.
But i am totally against mahindra for selling car with Nmc batteryes that has lesser life ..even though they are mfg by sony. NMC batterues are prone to thermal runaway.
Nexon Tiago tigor all have older platforms that is converted from petrol chasis platform
But punch has brand new EV platofrm made for electric. So tata is demanding bit more than expected proce for this car.
I expected they wiuld price 35kw for 11.99 lakh adventure and 12.99 for empworred..but its 1 lakh higher.
Also expect 1 percent high from present prices after feb 2024.
Battery prices are dropping in China. By next year price may drop to less than ₹5000 per kwh. Further price drop for EVs is possible.
Sir most of them speaking about providing less range from manufacturer, range panic, charging infrastructure, charging speed... But my concern is life of battery.. how long does it works.. ? Maximum how many km can run ... 2 lac or 2.5 lac we don't have idea about that...then what happens if battery completely spoiled.. how much cost may charge it from service sector after some more years.... Kindly please share your opinion and personal thoughts.. thank you

Tata Punch is really worth it. I have a New Wagon R Mid range version now. But it when it comes to safety standard i am feeling like switching over to Tata Punch.

Good analysis bro. Seems to be good product. Real range should be 375 atleast so it is worth spending 12 to 13 laks. For charging facility we have miles to go and we expect good range from manufacturers
If you are ev enthusiastic and if you know how to drive ev. You can extract max range of 350-360 at 60-65kph speed.
For me 35kw at 12.99 lakh is steal deal

Minimum 700km range is required to travel from one end of the state to other... until then ev cannot succeed... quick charge of 10 minutes like mobile phones is also needed

423km Arai is tested not in road . Its tested with machine at constant speed of 25-35kph speed.
Don't go with ARAI
REAL range is obtained with realistic speed of 60-65kph.
At 60-65kph it will give 70-75 percent of ARAI. 330-360 km range.
We can see most of the auto reviewers and may of us drive cruise at more than 80kph.
So when you cruise above 80kph.
Expect another 20 percent reduction in range from 350
Leading to 280-300 range.
If you don't understand the basics of this ev. Better don't buy it.
Above 80kph.
60 to 65 percent of ARAI range
At 60-65kph.
You'll get 70-75 percent of ARAI range.
At lesser speeds. Let's say if you wanna enjoy the scenery and want to drive slowly at 40-50 kph only it may give 360-380 km range also.

2. Tata Tigor
3. Renault Kiger
4. Honda Amaze
5. Maruthi Baleno

If electric and travel is limited to 200km.
Then MG comet ev
If need spacious car
Kiger is good.
Exter is poorly built.
Wont recommend amaze and tigor..sedan are outdated.
Baleno tin dabba . Glanza has better build but same look better build you have to shell out 1 lakh more for Toyota brand.
