Hafthor, I am 61 years old and live in Arizona, USA. You are inspiring me to work at getting healthy. Lost all of my motivation to even walk. I started walking today. Put in 1 mile. Thank you again sir.
Fair play mate. The 1st day you make a conscious decision to exercise, is the hardest! Tomorrows walk will be a breeze for you! 👍🏻
Just curious... I'm 63 and wondering why you would need someone to motivate you ? Motivation comes from within.
Well done brother! Hafthor inspired me as well.
@@freedomrings1420 agreed . Not so much with needing inspiration I can understand that to an extent but to give credit to anyone other than yourself is detrimental at the least
That is fantastic! 💪🏻 I'm sure you will keep on improving...
The fucking Starcraft music!! Was not expecting that all. Keep it coming :)
Nuclear launch detected!
@@jrodtopo Thor is here!
Bro there was a halo song in his other video, I was watching this like no way is that starcraft 2 music 🤣
I honestly love this series, keeps me motivated on my own gym journey. Its just overall insane to see how quickly hafthor gains his strength back. Good job and kepp on pushing!
This series got me back in love with powerlifting after long time!
Thor I am 33 years old just started gym I want to become as strong as you ..
You are an inspiration bro..
I love your strongman performances
love from India Stay strong healthy snd blessed bro 🙏
love the starcraft music when you start squatting! :)
I also noted skyrim and hades music at times.
Always a good day when Thor uploads a new training video
That OG music brings back the good ol LAN days.. and it’s epic
Thanks for putting it in there
Can't relate to the lifting, but damn that SC2 music still holds up! Makes me wanna go back to the ladder grind again :D
Here's me thinking "i know that music from somewhere"
Squatting to the epic Starcraft 2 soundtrack, nice. Looking forward to seeing you blast those goals, fuck yeah!
You got this G.O.A.T!!!
Lifting videos are back 🤩
The Starcraft music in the background is awesome!
Men the Starcraft music brings back memories. Nice touch. Keep up the good work champ!
Shoutout to the editor that used the StarCraft 2 terran theme song in the video! Made my day :D
Love the starcraft music! Keep it up Thor!
I love the music. It brings so many memories...
0:27 You are going to achieve this goal Hafthor! 💪🏻
Between Thor and his final goal lies 100% dedication and determination. Koma Svo Haffi!
The Halo music obviously made a great video even greater! Good luck on you all time world record attempt.
Starcraft tunes along with squats! hell of a mix
Editing and music 👌
4:19 Poor Kelsey's Belt Fitting Around Thor's Humongous Quads! 😂
Love your vids
Hafthor...Love the videos!!!!!!!! Really Inspired by all you do! I have a question: Is there any reason you collapse a little on your right side when squatting? Injury or is it just from tightness somewhere? Is it something your trainer is concerned with? Thanks again!!!!!
Also right foot is more externally rotated than left
I'd love to see some of the warm up before you get under the bar - whatever stretching and mobilisation you do
omg, the Starcraft 2 background music!!! So good
Love the Halo - Music
They say talent beats hard work, until talent works hard. It's so true
Hafthor is obviously a genetic freak, but I have followed his entire career and he has always worked extremely hard, showing great discipline
You only have to look at how serious he took boxing and the shape he got to, to see how dedicated he is
I have little doubt he will crush a 500kg squat and get his record. If he doesn't? It won't be for a lack of trying
Thanks for sharing your journey bigman! This is giving me the same vibe as your journey to 501 and I loved every minute of it
Love to see your progress and that you also have fun with it, gives me much inspiration man❣ I'm struggle with my mental health, so to wacth your videos helps alot❣ Peace out and love from Norway💪 And guys let us together get this channel to 1mill subsribers!👌
Yeah buddy!
Johnny, why don't you join Hafthor's training livestreams via Twitch? Every Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri at 1.00 pm GMT. 💪🏻🙂
Liking the Hades music in the background 😀
*440 in April, 470 in August & 500 in December.* You got this Hafthor! We believe in you! 💪🏻
Additional remark: The Music is getting better and better, each and every video!
VIKING BREED THOR
Belt. Wrist straps. Knee wraps. Elbow wraps. Suit. Flex bar. This is fake weight lifting , and this so called Viking is an alfabet.
@@sasquatchrosefarts9131 😂 Thor once lifted 600+ kg Log on his back for 5 steps , You just can't digest his strength, HATER !
@@IRONRIDER97 The haters are getting more and more desolated when Thor keeps on progressing! In December, there will be a mass desolation!!
My Name is Anshul Bharadwaj Tyagi(MBBS DOCTOR 😎) & I am from Haryana, India 🇮🇳 and Strongman is My Favourite Sports after Athletics & weight lifting.
STRONGMAN SHOULD BECOME A SPORTS EVENT IN OLYMPICS 😏
Love the Hades music. Good Taste!
4:19 RIP Kelsey's belt! 😂😂😂
Is that Starcraft music on guitar i hear in your warm-up? 👍
Whoever is editing in the video game music, fuckin brilliant. Great videos
Let's Goooo Thor 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
What were you eating in the beginning? 🙏💪💪
And I'm the same way, I don't like squatting with just the bar as a warmup. It just feels weird.
Also kudos to using Oblivion music
Great video. of the frost giant training legs, showing us all how a true champion does it , go Thor.
Legs growing! 💪🏻 We need 'em Massive Quads for the upcoming BIGGER Squats and Deadlifts from the Frost Giant!
@@Nirsterkur hey brother my legs hurt just watching Thor squatting.
@@kevinmee3501 Absolutely! He made 300 (661) for 5 as if he is squatting 1 plate a side! 💪🏻
@@Nirsterkur yes he is a total monster.
The 661 for 5 was absolutely effortless! Keep going son! You will break the ATWR and we are with you.
Son? 💀
I love this series, I wish you good luck with all my heart. Which Sebastian is your coach? Seba Kot THE FACELESS?
No lmao, sebastian oreb
Weight lifting and Halo themes? Awesome.
Starcraft Terran music is perfect ❤ THOR IS HERE!
love the starcraft music 😁
Thank you Thor for squatting to the StarCraft soundtrack. Awesome! Hahaha
feeling the brood war music on first set
I think it was SC2 music
2:00 Terran music :O
Cant wait to see full thor again
THE HALO MUSIC 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
love the starcraft terran music
Broooo, you had the Metroid OST the other day, and now Hades?! Fuck yeah man
I think the reason he can't squat well with just the bar is a lack of flexibility, but when you have weight on the bar it forces your body into a position you can't put yourself in naturally. I have the same issue and it's caused by my lack of ankle mobility.
Squat shoes with the raised heel could help, I use the rebok legacy ones.
Might be the camera angle at some points, but you seem to be leaning a bit to the right on your lighter lifts Hafthor. Keep an eye on that, no injuries allowed!
300 looked so easy 💪💪. You got this record with ease 👌
Starcraft background music. Ohmy!
Is that Starcraft music? Legend
I love the sc2 nerd music as hype music for lifting
is that stafcraft music ? 2:18 hell yeah !
great video!
The Starcraft music... Brooo
That Starcraft Terran theme
StarCraft music 😂 yes!!! 💪🏻💪🏻🔥
The Halo music makes me like this even more! Are you a Halo player Hafthor?
Let’s go!!!!!
Not bad. 15lbs and 3 reps from my PR
Is that SC2 music? Nice
Music around 2min mark sounds like Starcraft Terran music
Sounds like the music from StarCraft?
Fricking Hades music!?!? Hell yeah I can work out to that!! Lol 💪💪
Loving the halo 2 tunes
🇺🇸💪🏆 Viking Power !
good job large human
Starcraft backing music!? You are (a) Thor so it makes sense!
Halo soundtrack 👌🏻
One day a Terran marine can squat like Hafthor :D
Starcraft 2 soundtrack :D
What is the rest time b/w sets?
Strategic fart had me deaaaad 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
He's an irl thor of Greek mythology
💪
Lets gooo!
Koma Svo! ❤️
@@Nirsterkur koma svo
A 500 kg squat sounds really ambitious. Good luck 👍
This man can achieve anything he achieved 501 in deadlift that was not done before by anyone
500 kg squat has been performed by a few man so he will do that comparatively easily because he has everything better
So does a 500kg deadlift...😉
I doubt it, he barely did 501kg on deadlift which deadlift is suppose to be your best lift, he can probably do 450+ but doubt 500
@@lilmanq7746 hlo my friend go and watch halfthor 460 kg squat that was a no lift but watch how that weight goes up so fast he just missed the depth by a little and he did that lift after some weeks of training
He can do 480 to 500 kg deadlift no doubt
@@lilmanq7746 barely did 501? He made it look like a warm up.
Lil starcraft music in there I see you hafthor
The second coming of THOR is gonna be EPIC it should be a movie.
is that starcraft music i hear? :) 1:47
All I can focus on is the Starcraft music going on, ready to kill some Zergs lmao.
I think its hard to squat lite is the mass of your muscles is hard to compress and the heavier weight forces the compression. Don't worry about the diet you will get used to it again it has been a while since you have had to eat a lot of food that is for the gain and not enjoyment.
lol sc2 sound track
You can tell that you are a man who has a great wife that provides you with so much support. You deserve all the W’s you are working towards! Go Thor!
Nice StarCraft soundtrack lmao
Hi thor, you probably wont see this but in case you do, what do you recommend for muscle gain in my case? Im 6,9 and 270 pounds, you could say I'm more into the skinny side than fat, have been doing weights for more than 10 years, was really skinny in the past to the point where I only weighted 170 pounds, so Ive come a long way but I fell stuck, would like to know what i can do better to gain some mass, thanks. Great video, keep it up, Im sure you will take that record with no problem...
I recommend throwing you question in the fitness thread on Reddit, also give them your current work out routine and diet to get any actual advice.
@@Jordanschannel64 Tks for the advise
I’m Thor’s trainer contact me for a plan
Brother please join Hafthor's Twitch livestreams. Next stream: 16th Thursday 1.00 pm GMT.
.....you converted 300 kg to 631 lbs on screen.. should be 661 lbs..
Thor, you are a monster of a man. Train hard, stay safe!
Is that some StarCraft music for Day9 of the journey or just a coincidence? :D
Black power!!
He lost a few kilos and he gained it back in two days for the next video, You are the King for a reason Sir!
I just want to be clear I am not a lifter at all, I am just wondering why your right side seemed angled to the side a little bit when you went into squat? Or is that just the camera angle
nice star craft II ost xD
Starcraft 2 terran music XD
This is the Starcraft Themesong in the background... What in the world lmfao
I'm curious what the theory is behind going up in weight and then down a bit next time. Is it to perfect form or does this make one stronger faster for other reason(s)?
Recovery, both CNS and muscles/joints. The lighter week gets in volume and more muscle fatigue vs CNS fatigue. The CNS takes longer to recover from so the 2 weeks off heavy let's the CNS recover but you're still getting the work in. Once form is really dialed in you can work on speed work or variations of said movement.
@@richardbrocker4275 Ah, interesting. Thanks for the explanation! I'll look into it more.
I recon it is to fool the body to keep developing its strength. I f you go heavy all the time, you will eventually reach a point where you won't have any more progress. But if you every two week really push the body then the body will be tricked into getting stronger. Another thing, is that if you really push your body all the time, without letting it recuperate, then you are much more prone to injuries, which again will stop you from training, and thus stop your progress.
Since he is only starting back training & pushing weight, he can progress linearly. 1 week heavy, then 1 week volume is a good approach. When the progress will slow down, I believe he will start doing training blocks of 4 weeks with gradual weight jumps and only 1/4 week going really heavy (like almost every elite powerlifter do).
Great answers Richard, Palmar & BRS Thanks guys for sharing your knowledge... 🙏🏻💪🏻
