Brahms just does a great job of making a virtuoso quartet be all it can be! This is a great performance as it hits all the emotional highs and lows prevailant in this particular work and leaves us with feeling of satisfaction and release. The second movement is so beautiful and so well done that no more could be asked of this performance.
I never get tired listening to this. This String Quartet has almost all of the human emotions we know by now. Thank you, Belcea Quartet for exellent playing, and thank you, PLANET CHAMBER MUSIC.
I have never heard this gorgeous quartet before, and I'm delighted to have heard it in such a crisp, emotion-filled, and intimate performance. I hope to hear more performances by The Belcea Quartet --another first for me. I must give special praise to whoever chose this remarkable and abstract setting (foreshadowing the surprisingly modern piece, to my mind), and special thanks to the videographer, Johannes Bachmann, and to the sound engineer, Joël Cormier, who enhanced the pleasure of listening to the Opus 51/1 Quartet and its performance. Well done! Thanks.
The recording quality of this video is astonishing. Take my word for it; I've listened to dozens of recordings since 1994. It's also beautifully shot. Those little fairy lights look like stars suspended in the concert hall.
What an outstanding performance of such a wondrous quartet! I must admit that I had for some reason never heard this piece before, but I am so glad that I was able to experience it for the first time with this ensemble!
This great musica has nothing to do directly with Clara Schumann whom he did love but decided not to marry! This music is a manifestation of the intellectual and spiritual passion of the young Johannes Brahms as a genius!
Wonderful, extraordinary performance, Perfect! Thank you😃😃😃 ps:If Piano concerto 1 is op 15 about 23/24 yrs old: How old was Brahms when he wrote this piece?
Mokcheon Goun Bird Throw away the darkness of dawn Sunny water in front of the hospital room Sitting on the blue ice Steamed ice with a jade beak.
Bread, bread, bread, The sound of breaking ice The sound of beads Subtle sound waves of morning origin An empty musical instrument in the baby's ear
The baby opens his eyes The sun has golden wings When visiting a hospital room No bird's shadow can be seen on the ice plate.
One dawn The fire that swims in the baby's room goes out The day when the black insignia covered the window The empty musical instrument that crushed the ice stopped Where the bird sat The petals of the snow country were scattered. ..

Thanks to this performance, I was able to blow away today's melancholy.

Magnificent playing and ensemble. It's so nice to hear a quartet that truly understands balance.
Bravo !
I'm completely overwhelmed! What a beautiful quartet. Thank you for a wonderful performance.

BRAVI TUTTI......from Acapulco!
Sublime !
Wonderful. Yes!
This is a strong, lyrical performance. Beauty incarnate.
The whole thing is full of passion and beauty It's about his love for Clara Schumann.
Yes, perhaps/hopefully you are right. I only know that this is wonerful music.
I don't hear much to be honest. Perhaps he wanted to impress Clara Schumann with this piece?
Superb playing of a great work. Strictly speaking, this is Op.51 No.1. The other one in A minor is even better imo.
Bravo!!!
Vitale Meisterschaft. Hut ab!

Please correct the name of the violist: the correct spelling is Chorzelski.
Hello! Lovely production, amazing musicians. I was wondering which microphones were used

Moćni i sugestivni izvodjači
SOMETIMES I CAN HEAR SNIPS OF TCHAIKOVSKY AND RIMSKY KORSAKOV. JUST SMALL BITS
Cant stand watching string players move around like this, but it did sound great, loved listening :)

A lot reverb.
Too sad. I prefer his piano quintet and sextet no.1.
