Funny watching this review just after I'd whittled my choice of Milwaukee knives down to the same two that you did. The final choice for me was the Fastback Flip with blade storage. Mostly because the store didn't have the 6 in 1 in stock. Then I discovered the 6 in 1 has plastic handles which turned me off.
The compact folding one is my favorite because I have small hands. I just with it had blade storage. I was able to pick up the compact one and the full-size fastback with blade storage in a pack together for like 20 dollars.
I just got the combo pack for $14.97, and see that the reason for the compact not flinging quite as easily as the larger one is because the release button is a lower profile, so you tend to only partially disengage it. If you push the button in further, it will have the same action as the larger one. It's only that the higher button allows you to more easily push it to full release.
A lot of people don't know but on the flip utility knife when you go to install a new blade you do not have to be holding the button to install a new blade and therefore you can hear a click after pushing the blade in confirming that it is locked in place.
The 48-22-1503 combo at 14.97 that I just ordered and like as the best value, including the compact fast back and the larger standard fast back. Combo has the 48-22-1502 Fastback Knife with 5 Blade storage and the 48-22-1500 Fastback Compact Knife together in the pack, so it's basically a free compact. I was considering the one with the bit holder but got scared off by review comments saying it broke in short order. Delicate design apparently, so it needs to be used carefully.
The Fast Back knives do NOT have a plastic body, as stated. They have strong and durable plastic scales over steel liners, just like an Ontario Rat, only better. This makes them strong, slim and durable and grippy. The steel liners may in fact be stronger than the kind of alloy that gets used for the 3D die-cast handles.
To each their own.... I prefer the compact size knives. I keep a compact in my pocket everyday and I'm looking forward to the compact sideslide. I'm not cutting shingles or carpet though, I prefer something that's easier to keep in my pocket.
That's why I carried the Gerber EAB Lite, it has the smallest footprint and carries low in the pocket. I just misplaced it after years of use, so I figured I'd try something new to justify my misplacing it. The carbide blades are the ones to use, they maintain the edge significantly better than the standard ones, and don't need a he-man grip to use as a result. Compact when it's more about finesse than brawn 😉
Thanks Virtual Virtual! Yeah the 1502 is really nice too, have you tried that one yet? Agree, the 6 in 1 is so fun to carry. Love having that screwdriver in a pinch.
@@TheTruckGuy not yet, where i live they are so much more expensive they are like $34, for now i'm using the stanley exo change and some snap-off knife, this is the model STANLEY STHT10266-1
Currently you can pick up the 6n1 and compact for 19.97. Or if you like the new Camo compact knife blade, it can be included with the 2 above for 44.00.
The Fast Back knives do NOT have a plastic body, as stated. They have strong and durable plastic scales over steel liners, just like an Ontario Rat, only better. This makes them strong, slim and durable, lighter and grippy. The steel liners may in fact be stronger than the kind of alloy that gets used for the 3D die-cast handles. The point of the fixed bladed knives is stability of the handle and serious real estate in the hand
The 6 in 1 beats all the others hands down for me. I’ve no idea why he never mentions the awesome lockable and universal bitdriver which is so convenient, a joy to use, can be opened and closed one handed when you close it on your leg and is just such a useful thing to have in your pocket, maybe with a small pouch of bits, as I do. Nearly doubles the usefulness when away from your toolkit
@@TheTruckGuy I honestly have not been familair with them as they are reall expensive but I kind of like them they have a very special kind of knife which has has a retractable blade and a folding jab saw I kinda like that one
I think I'm going to check out the 1511, because I have the 1500 and don't really like it that much because I hate the flick out action which I find annoying and stupid. I don't think they really make anything particularly left hand friendly, but I will have to check out the compact slide utility knife.
Plastic is lighter, but the metal isn't much heavier. It's more of a feel thing. Overall, the metal feels higher quality to me. Thanks for the comment Hector! Hit me up with a subscribe if you haven't already.
Not a construction worker. It's the 1505 for me as a win. Basic cutting tasks & a bit driver. Mainly use the slotted screwdriver for light prying. Blade use for single use plastic packaging.
This is the first product that not only delivers but overdelivers. It advertised 6 features but i count 8. I have the Philips, standard, hex driver, blade, bottle opener, pry bar, hammer and scraper. I have a lot of benchmades, cold steels and random others rusting in a drawer because of this guy 😂
You see sir it all depends on what job you do, I work in a warehouse store work picking orders for shipping etc, receiving orders, opening boxes and bags. I’ve have the 6 in 1 for almost a year but now lost it, here to decide which to buy now. It’s gotta be the compact fastback I think So depends what ur doing… cutting plaster board etc mine won’t be good for that ofcourse
Good review, but you said "guys" 285 times in 22mins. Think about that.
I love you and thank you for saying this for me omg! Guys
Guys
Very annoying. couldn't finish watching it because of that
I thought bout doing reviews but I'd say fuck 285 x in less than 22 mins
Did anyone catch who made these knives? I'm not sure if it was mentioned?
New drinking game ==> Drink every time The Truck Guy says "Guys"... K G counted 285 times.

1505 - can't beat having a 1/4" drive screwdriver that can be used with socket set.
nice one, yes honest winners, i like the 6 in 1, in a rush the screwdriver can come in handy

But seriously guys.
I have the 1505 and love it.

I like the all metal body OG the best still. Mine has a nice wear on it and I never wanna replace it

Thanks for the review. Question: where are they made in?
Excellent review again !I loved it if possible could you do a review bon the full range of fiskars knives?
Thanks Thimmaiah! Yeah, I should do that. I've been looking at the Fiskars knives a little. Do you like them?
@@TheTruckGuy I honestly have not been familair with them as they are reall expensive but I kind of like them they have a very special kind of knife which has has a retractable blade and a folding jab saw I kinda like that one
Cool, I'm excited to try them!
If I had a dollar for every time you said guys I could buy all of these utility knives
Best in my opinion after a quick CBA and owning a few.

Which is lighter to wield.. plastic or metal body? I have both plastic that you are presenting... very nice my Friend

What knife did the 1510 replace? The knife it replaced was much better than it is.
I think the 48-22-1910. I'll have to check that one out if I can find it! Please subscribe if you haven't already. Thanks for watching Tom!

thanks for the infor
i hated the side slide returned it and got the original fastback like it way more and there the same price where i am
I tried to finish but darn, the counts of how many times he said the brand's name, you'd think he'd get a millon dollars for every name drop.
He needs to say guys one more time. ☝️
I use all this beauty
The beauty of Milwaukee! They have a great lineup of utility knives!
Why do you keep talking about Butt Guys?
🙏✝️🙏amen🙏✝️🙏
said "Guys" like a Teen Girl says "like". Adnauseam!
Not a fan of the utility of this utility knife 11:35
I use the compact slide, small and easy to carry, well made. There once was a man from Kentucket

Damn Guy really hard to listen to your videos. Not sure what causes your vocabulary but I would consider outsourcing the voice work to India.
ROFL Guys!
Fixed blade all day for drywall
So long, so boring. sry.
